Maggie reports in this review:
WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
The weather is generally hot in the summer months. The average temperature is 89 degrees. In the Winter the city can be cold with temperatures averaging 47 degrees. The wettest month is in February with heavy rain. The winds in this town can be warm, dry, and strong. There are no hurricanes, tornado's, or snow in this town.Anaheim isn't the safest city to live in. The kinds of crime I've heard of occurring are thefts, burglaries, and auto thefts. About 62% of the crimes are thefts, 14% are burglaries, and 13% are auto thefts. Shootings are pretty common in this town too. Not the best place to live if you want to raise a family. Some of the better parts of town are the neighborhoods of Black Star Canyon Rd, and East Serrano/Columbus Way. The median home prices in the best parts of town are $600,000 with rental prices of $2,139. The homes are established but not old having been built between 1970-1999. There are many executives who live in these neighborhoods. Most of the people are Iranian, Austrian, Yugoslavian and White. The worst parts of town are South Anaheim, W Katella Ave & S Harbor Blvd, W La Palma Ave & N Harbor Blvd. The median home prices in these parts of the neighborhood are $400,000. The rental prices are $1,600. The homes are older and built between 1940 and 1969. There are many Mexicans in these parts of the neighborhood. Each neighborhood has a different mix of occupations and types of people represented. Majority of the people are nice while some aren't. In the better parts of town there are many executives, and high income couples with children. There are also many gang affiliated people in this town as well that aren't as educated or making good money. If you're Hispanic or Iranian, enjoy a lot of people and a hectic lifestyle you will fit in this town. For those who prefer a safer community with less traffic and beautiful peaceful scenery's you would not fit well in this town.
Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
There are quite a variety of shopping centers with many options of stores to chose from. Most of the shops are affordable and there is plenty of space to park and walk around. Some of the plazas have more to offer than others. The best restaurants are Umami Burger, Napa Rose, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, and The Original Pancake House. The quality of the public schools are below average to average. There are better cities that offer better quality of teaching and programs for the students. There are plenty of opportunities in this town for singles. There are a variety of night clubs, restaurants, and the Angels Stadium.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
There is an airport about 15 miles from the city as well as some nearby highways.Compared to its neighboring town of Brea, Anaheim is higher in crime rate than Brea. Brea is a safe and beautiful city with plenty to do and see. Anaheim is more run down compared to Brea. Brea is definitely a better place to live because it's safer to raise a family and the town is clean with many high end shopping centers and restaurants. The name of the local hospital is Anaheim Health Medical Center. The hospital has nearly 600 doctors and all of them are board certified with exceptional knowledge. The staff aren't as helpful, while some are more friendly than others. Some of the nicest places to visit in this town are Disneyland, Angels Stadium, and Gardenwalk.
General comments
My first impressions of this town is that it's where Disneyland and Angels Stadium is. There is a lot to do when it comes to theme parks and entertainment. This town feels as though it's not as nice as other cities. There are plenty of run down neighborhoods with diverse restaurants. Some of the areas are better in quality and scenery. This town is very diverse, and overly crowded. I don't get a sense of feeling secure and safe when coming here. There are quite a few of gang affiliated people and some neighborhoods have graffiti on the walls.
