The weather in Ann Arbor, MI varies by the month. They have cold snow winters. The roads can be quite nasty during the winter months but the city does plow when snowstorms hit. The temperatures in winter are around 30 degrees. The summers in Ann Arbor are beautiful with temperatures ranging from 65-90 degrees. You will typically see the 90 degrees toward the end of July. They do get rain but nothing really unusual. | | Ann Arbor has many different types of crimes. The most common crime is burglaries. These happen almost everyday. You will here of assault cases as well. There are also some robberies and auto thefts reported in this town. They do not really have any major crimes such as rapes and murders. Overall its a pretty safe place compared to the population to the amount of crimes that take place here. | | The cost of buying a home in Ann Arbor varies a lot. I would check out the Hackamore Drive area. These homes have a lot of square footage. The homes in this neighborhood can be very expensive though with some of the prices reaching nearly one million dollars. The cheaper end in this neighborhood is more around $350,000. Keep in mind that these are all new construction homes though and they are very energy efficient. If you are on a much lower budget i would check out the Ironwood Drive area. These homes range in price from $70,000 up to $180,000. You can find an affordable home in this area they are just a bit older and may need a few updates. | | Ann Arbor has many different races. The dominate race here is the white people. They also have quite a few Asians as well. Most of the residents are nice but i would certainly watch you make your friends as some people may not be all to friendly. I would just really get to know someone before you just invite them to hang out or anything. The white race would fit in best just because typically that is who you see around here. The white race is very welcoming to any race though. |
Downtown Area | | Restaurants | | Schools | | Single life |
The downtown area is great. They offer a nice landscape as well as many little shops to check out. All the small shop owners and employees are very nice and welcoming. They even have small coffee shops downtown. | | I would consider stopping into the West End Grill located in Ann Arbor. They have some excellent food and fast service. Another great place to find something for everyone is the local Applebee's. They have good food and a big variety. | | The schools in Ann Arbor are great. The curriculum may be a bit tougher than some nearby schools but the teachers are always willing to help a student one on one if needed. The sports program is fantastic as well. | | The have a ton of opportunity for singles in this town. You could meet someone at the local bars or clubs. You may even find someone that goes to college here being that a lot of college students are single. |
Noise | | town comparison vs. | | Best hospital | | Tourist attractions |
If you live near the airport in Ann Arbor you will certainly here the planes coming in and out. You also may here some college students being a bit rowdy near the campus. Other than the airport and the college there would be no noises to be concerned about. | | Ann Arbor has a ton to offer as far as shopping, clubs, and bars. Ypsilanti is a bit smaller and not to far away. The drive time is about 15 minutes. I like the Ypsilanti is a bit smaller and seems a little slower paced. Ypsilanti still offers a ton of stores to shop in and the downtown area is beautiful. I would choose to live in Ypsilanti because the you can find cheaper homes in this area. Some homes are even as low as $45,000 in this town. I like how they are more slow paced and it does not seem that someone is always pushing you to get out of the way. I would choose living in Ypsilanti over Ann Arbor any day. | | The University of Michigan Health System is a great hospital. This is one of the best in the state. They are getting better everyday. You can count on them for just about anything. | | If you are a fan of football i would recommend checking out Michigan Stadium. The college football games are a blast. They also have a nice children museum called the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum. This a a great place to take your kids. |

This is a fast paced type of town. Everyone is always on the move. Although most people respect one another. There are many nice hotels to stay in. Compared to how big the town is i have been surprised on how clean they keep it. The landscape in Ann Arbor is beautiful and always looking nice. The town plants flowers next to the road which makes for a nice scenery as you drive through the town. | | | | | | |
