WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
The weather here is often times windy and or rainy even in the summer time. The winters are cold and windy and rainy, and gets some snow, sometimes, and usually not much. The summers are nice. Averages about 66-75 and a breeze.
Crime isn't a big deal here, or not something you hear of often. Most people who live here know everyone else and no one really wants everyone to know they did something bad if they were to get caught, cause everyone would know who they are and where they lived and could never show their faces again. If there is crime, it is usually theft.
Astoria is a very small town, and there are no parts of it that are bad. It is all the same. Everyone here is right next to the Pacific Ocean and everyone has the same things going on. Any part of here is a beautiful place to be.
The people here are great, and very friendly. I think during the end of the summer they tend to get a little wore out by the visitors and people from out of town just vacationing because the later you go in the summer, the more tired you see in the locals eyes.

Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
Downtown is awesome. You can walk it for the day and find all different kinds of shops, from hand made beach crafts, to home made salt water taffy or carmel popcorn and some of the biggest suckers you will find anywhere. They have a walk way along the beach and a cool playground on the beach. They have an aquarium kids love to visit because they can pet different sea creatures. All the places here are fun to visit! The best places to eat here are Bridgewater Bistro, Ship Inn Restaurant & Family Pub, and Baked Alaska. The schools are wonderful. They are smaller and the kids are able to learn better. The parents are usually all involved and so are the teachers. This is one of those towns that the children aren't lost in the educational system.
Yes, there are chances for singles. But maybe more if you're there during the summer months. If you move there, it will more then likely take you a while to meet someone that lives there too and wants to spend the rest of their lives with you.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
No, there aren't any unusual noise problems here. Its very nice and peaceful.
There is Warrington, Seaside, Rockaway, and Cannon Beach just to name a few, and they all have the beauty of the beach atmosphere and its values. They all have their own special little thing that makes their place unique, like an aquarium, or camping, or food, or salt water taffy. But they all have the Ocean in common.Columbia Memorial Hospital is the best place to go if you need real help and care. I went to a different one before this one, and they looked at my foot and said it would be fine. No x-ray, nothing and they sent me on my way. I knew something was wrong and I went here and found out my foot was badly broken and I had pieces of bone shards all over in my foot. The aquarium is a must to visit. So is the shop where you can rent sand trikes. There is an arcade that is fun for all ages, and walking down town and just visiting all the shops is fun. Astoria Column is a neat place if you want to learn about the history. Near by Fort Stevens State Park is a very beautiful place to see and even has a part of an old ship sticking out of the ground. The Oregon Film Museum is cool for those interested in all the movies that have been filmed here in Oregon including the Goonies that was filmed here in Astoria. You can always ride the 1913 streetcar along Astoria's waterfront too!
General comments
I love this place and would love to live here forever. I love the ocean and the beaches. The forestry, the sea food, the animals, the fishing. I love it.
