Weather | | How much crime? | | What are the neighborhoods like? | | What are the people like? | Beaverton has very nice weather almost year round. With a little above average rainfall levels each year and warm summers typically staying in the low to mid 80s with cool breezes.Winters can get rather cold with the mixture of rain & chances of snow. Sometimes it can be rather overcast and somber but its nice to be able to experience all of the seasons. | | Crime is not an issue in this city. It is a rare occasion for any disturbances and comparatively it is a very safe area. | | There are several suburbs that are very nice and safe. As far as bad neighborhoods,I am personally unaware of any of them. | | The people are generally friendly and inviting, but they also enjoy their privacy so they tend to keep to themselves. | Downtown Area | | Restaurants | | Schools | | Single life | The downtown area consists mainly of strip malls, fast food, restaurants, grocery stores and bars. There are also several large chains such as Target,Walmart,Petco, etc. you can generally find anything you need ,but if you want more than the run of the mill,Portland is a very close trip and has everything you could possibly be looking for as far as malls, thrift stores, boutiques, fine dining, theaters, etc. | | This town has several "All American" style restaurants, mostly commonly known franchises, chains, and fast food restaurants that serve the typical burger, soups, and salads. They're are several small bakeries and coffee shops as well. If you are looking for something different, Beaverton does also offer several Thai and Asian options. | | The public school systems in Beaverton are nice. They strive to keep the surrounding areas safe for our children. | | Since Beaverton is a family oriented town and not very involved socially, singles usually find themselves traveling to the next big city, which is Portland. Portland has a great scene for singles and its close enough to commute back and forth on a daily basis. | Noise | | town comparison vs. | | Tourist attractions | | General comments | It is a very quiet town that focuses on keeping a tight noise ordinance. The majority of the people are 9-5 working class family's that enjoy their silence and solitude. | | It is a small town, yet it is rapidly growing and progressing. With more people moving to the NW daily, the town feels a need to constantly have an upkeep on their neighborhoods in order to make a good impression. | | There are some nice little nature parks to enjoy but honestly you might have to make an extra trip out of the town enjoy some surrounding areas. | | The town has a private, secluded calm and inviting feel to the atmosphere. It is a quiet little area with several surrounding suburbs. |

faith reports in this review:
Weather | | How much crime? | | What are the neighborhoods like? | | What are the people like? | The weather here is much like that of the rest of Oregon. It rains a great deal all year long, but tha'ts what makes it green. The winters are mild, and it snows rarely. The spring is beautiful and a happy time for many. The fall is that time when we are all ready to get a break from the heat and outdoors and just relax and cuddle. | | The biggest crime concerns here are car theft and run away kids, who may or may not have stolen the cars. Then is larceny and assault. I hear about it pretty much every day, or see it on the news. | | The races are mainly white and hispanic. There are good parts mixed in with the bad and vice versa. Part of Barns Rd is bad, and part of it is good. Part of Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy is good, and part of it is bad. There is good and bad on just about every major street in Beaverton. | | The people can be very friendly on one part of the street and then not so friendly on another part of the same street. I just think some have had it harder then others and it reflects. | Downtown Area | | Restaurants | | Schools | | Single life | The downtown is pretty nice. There is a lot to see and do there and would definitely take more then a day to check out. They have just about everything you could think of, and then some. | | I love the Rama Thai, The Sushi Zen, the Happa Grill, Giovanni's. and Jin Wah's But there are way more great ones out there, to many to recall. | | The schools I would say were average here. Kind of like everything else. Just average. | | Yes, as there are anywhere. But here there is a great deal more chance then in other places because of its size and because of all the people who come in and out from other areas. | Noise | | town comparison vs. | | Best hospital | | Tourist attractions | There are no unusual noises unless you live close to the trains or airport in town. Other then that it is pretty decent. | | It is a bit bigger then Hillsboro, and has more things to do then Hillsboro. Cedar Hills is more higher class and more expensive when it comes to living. But then again there are alot of towns around Beaverton that are also upscale, and high class, like Barns, or the west hills. | | St. Vincent Hospital is the best. I woke up there one day and stayed for 2 weeks. They took very good care of me and were inspiring. | | There is the Tualitin Hills Nature Park, Cinitopia, Laserport, the golf course, and an indoor climbing gym. There is the Malibu Raceway where you can go in and race, and many many many other things you can do here and around here. | General comments | | | | | | | The town feels like to me that it has been here for a long time and even having lived there, there is so much more to it that I dont know about. It feels like its down to earth made for people who want to be out of the city but still close enough to it to visit any time they please. | | | | | | |
