WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
Normal weather in Burnsville is common when compared to most states in the Midwest. During the winter temperature's may fall as low as zero to the negatives. On average during the winter however, you may see temperatures average in the mid teens to upper twenties. During the summer from May-August you can see the temperature reach the upper 70's. During the summer people do notice that the precipitation and humidity is a little higher. Brownsville experience's an abundant amount of snow during the winter as well. During some points of January you can see up to several feet of snow accumulating over time. Often hardening to ice, the snow causes major problems for the people of Burnsville. When I look at crime in Burnsville I don't see as much problems as I thought I would have. I notice that most of the population although white, has a lot of immigrants that live there. I see more fights and assaults in Burnsville than I do in Savage or other neighboring cities. Theft is also a issue in the city of Burnsville as cars, money, and small shops do get robbed every once and a while. The city as a whole does a good job with maintaining itself and keeping everyone safe and healthy.Downtown Burnsville is a very popular area to live in and one of the safer and better parts of town. The homes are modern and have a condo type look to them that really attract's outsiders. The homes are affordable and are filled with mostly white people who are working downtown. Be careful around the subdivisions that go past Highway 13. I wouldn't invest my time there, the schools are bad and the area in general has seen a high decline, with crime and homes that are deteriorating. A mix of black, white, and other races are what make up the upper half of burnsville.Burnsville takes up my first stop on my least favorite places in the Metro area. Burnsville used to be one of the best places to live, and now it's not anymore. The people around town are usually friendly, but now it's starting to grow with business professionals that are young. You will fit in if you keep to yourself and you enjoy being close to a lot of the attractions near the city of Minneapolis. You will not fit if you're uneducated, and not ready for the professional white-collar lifestyle.

Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
Burnsville's downtown is one of the focal points, and most impressive about the city. It's dubbed as the "Heart of the City". Filled with shoppes and boutiques, it really does bring a nice feel to the area.Breakfast is where people flock to when it comes to Burnsville. Sometimes I hear people mention the town as "Breakfast Burnsville". Jensen's Cafe is a favorite, many people go there for breakfast and coffee and people go there for the great deals.Burnsville is notorious for having one of the worst public schools in the county. Overpopulated, and the education is not even close to being standard. Reasons why you shouldn't bring a family here.A lot of opportunity for singles who are career-orientated. A lot of the women and men are looking for people who are educated and ready to move up and work in the big city (Minneapolis). Night life usually occurs near the MN/St.Paul area.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
Burnsville is near the Airport, which does cause noise problems.Apple Valley and Eagan are the two neighboring towns to Burnsville. Not that much of an upgrade can be seen with these two towns. Eagan seems to be less populated, and the occurrences I hear of crime are more than what I hear from Burnsville. Eagan has less shopping opportunities, and there is not much variety with the stores they do have. Apple Valley also is not special either. It's a town that you just end up driving right through on your commute. A lot of open parks are seen in AV, and the people are very friendly. Burnsville beats these two towns, just based off the resources.Fairview is the closest hospital, and it is an extremely professional and amazing place. You can be sure for your safety there when in trouble.Burnsville has lakes that offer the opportunity for you to jet ski and boat. Also visiting the Ice Center is one of the places people enjoy the most. The Art museum is also a favorite of many.
General comments
You could do alot worse than Burnsville when it comes to cities and towns that surround the Metro Area. I know the schools aren't that good, but I do see a lot going for the town in general. The location is prime, it's clean, has great facilities for healthcare, and is continuously developing. The city has some highlights, and I can see Burnsville catching fire again with a little more time. Burnsville feels like one of those towns with nothing to lose and a lot to gain with potential. It's one of those places that needs time to flourish.
