The summers are mild, most people do not have central air conditioning in their homes. The winters are very rough, make sure you bring a heavy parka and snow boots!Cambridge is a big place, and crime varies depending on the neighborhood. In Central Square, there are many drug crimes, in Harvard, you see more robberies. In Kendall there is no crime. Just stay aware! The whole area has become a very nice place to live, some parts nicer than others. Homes around Kendall and Harvard are very expensive. Since both areas are near Universities, you will encounter many academic types.People are very friendly and "nerdy" you will meet many ttpes as there are a ton of schools in the area.

The Cambridge Galleria is a great mall, with everything you really need.Grafton Street pub and many similar Restaurants in Harvard are great. There is always something new and hip opening in Cambridge. The schools are incredible, especially Cambridge Latin School.Yes! This place has tons of different types of bars and many students and young people looking to mingle.

Around the schools, students keep weird hours, so be aware of that.It is more casual than Boston, more upscale than Watertown. It has the youngest average age as well, because of all the students. You'll want to go to Mass General, as it is just across the Bridge!Visit Harvard! There is so much history to learn that you could kill many an hour seeing art and historical sites.
General comments
Town can feel a little grungy, very cool. Many tech start ups are based here, as well as two major Universities. This is a place for smart people to live and work!
