Are you thinking of moving or relocating to Cary, North Carolina? Would you like to know what the quality of life is like living in Cary?
Mahamed Mohamed reports in this review:
WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
Cary is similar to a lot of cities in the Piedmont area. People love to visit Cary however, because during the summer the humidity is not as bad. Temperatures fluctuate around 70-80's. Low Humidity and temperatures that are not too hot, make Cary a place to be at. During the winter, many people don't enjoy it because Cary in the past few years has been the victim of ice storms. Temps range from the low 20's to the upper 40's during the deepest and coldest months. Rain, and other major forms of weather are not common in Cary or the surrounding areas.Cary over the past ten years has seen the presentation of many Northerners coming down south to relocate. From that people have seen the crime rate slowly increase. Vandalism is a common crime that happens in Cary and can be seen when you go towards the rougher edges of town. Sometimes you do see the occasional drug bust, however that is commonly seen in any city or town that surrounds the Greater Raleigh area. In general you shouldn't be too turned off by C
ary and the crimes that occur there.
Cary Towne Center albeit being a very popular mall, is an area you shouldn't buy a house near. Middle school and high school kids, linger around and give residents a hard time during the day and night. Grey stone Village is one of the more popular and well established residential neighborhoods in Cary and in Wake County in general. The neighborhood is predominately white, and prices float around the high 350-400's. Downing Village is one of the worst neighborhoods to live in when it comes to Cary. The neighborhood is split with half African-american and half Caucasian. The people of Cary are one of the more friendlier people you can meet. You enjoy the company you see with the people of Cary and that's what I enjoy so much about the city and the people that surround it. There are a lot of mixes in the Cary community with a lot of individuals that are foreign and out of the state. Major ethnic mixes that take up Cary are Indian, White, and African-American.
Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
Cary has a small downtown and is not used as much as a shopping district. Not many people visit the area for shopping. Cary towne center is centered as the main shopping district for Cary and serves as a focal point for shopping for the southern wake area.Cheesecake factory is one of the popular favorites, as well as Kanki which is an Asian restaurant. These two spots are favorites within the community and can be seen visited by many tourists who visit the Raleigh/South Wake area. The public schools in Cary are one of the best in any neighboring towns. They have the best test scores and are year in and year out top in all of the categories compared to every school.Cary is a great opportunity for singles. People love Cary because a lot of the people who graduate from the high schools there tend to stay a couple more years and get jobs at the career facilities that are present in the city. This allows a thriving environment for young twenty-somethings.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
Cary is near the RDU area which is usually busy and filled with a lot of intersections coming from I-40. Highway 55 is also crossing Cary and can be a scene for noise complaints, as cars pass 24/7 through this area.Cary is a lot better than Apex and Holly Springs solely because of it's presence and history with the south wake area. More development and progress has been made in the city of Cary than any of the other neighboring towns because it's been there for so long. Cary is better because it has the places that everyone needs to visit.Cary WakeMed is one of the favorites for people who seek medical attention. Wakemed is a favorite because they have some of the top doctors transfer from Chapel Hill to assist.Jordan Lake is one of the favorites in the cary area, along with the towne center, and the Cary Community Park are one of the best places to visit. They promote a great place to meet people and have a community bond.
General comments
Cary feels like your city with a historic presence. It still has that the small town feel with a big enough dominance to have an abundance of resources under it's disposal. The schools that are present in Cary are a great representative of that and that's what draws a lot of people from the North here. It's affordability to live in and the town has a lot of opportunity for you to become successful.
