Cocoa Beach has the type of weather that draws visitors from all over the world. Summers are hot, with temperatures in the 80's and low 90's. Humidity is a draw back that comes along with the climate, sometimes making you feel uncomfortably sticky. Winters are very mild, with temperatures generally in the 50's. Hurricanes are possible along the ocean, though infrequent. | | Crime is present in Cocoa Beach as it is anywhere in the United States. The highest numbers are that of thefts and robberies. With so many vacationers and high-value property, the area is prime for thieves. Armed robberies are also reported, as well as a few assaults. | | Some of the best areas in Cocoa Beach are near Sunflower St and the Cocoa Beach Pier. This area is a hotspot of tourist activity and is one of the most desirable areas for beach homes. The shore line is jam-packed with bungalows and condos all vying for the white sands as their backyard. While it's hard to find an undesirable area of this picturesque town, less pristine areas might be the roads directly bordering SR A1A and SR 520 which run through town. The highways bring with them traffic and noise. | | Cocoa Beach is an eclectic mix of old and young, rich and poor, educated and uneducated. Although it is a tourist town, there are a great many who make this piece of paradise their year round home. It is an excellent place for families, and you'll see many couples walking dogs along the beach with small children tagging along. A high concentration of surfers are always on the hunt for the next wave. Elderly and the retired enjoy the perks of this town as well. |

The downtown area is a beautiful spot catering to tourists, with a great variety trendy shops and beachy boutiques. | | Coconuts on the Beach is a great spot near the waves to find fresh seafood and great sandwiches. Jazzy's has a great selection of fish and steaks. | | There are three public schools in town, which have excellent curriculum, and are on average with other US schools. | | There are great opportunities for singles in Cocoa Beach, and an active night life. Most noise in Cocoa Beach is due to traffic and tourists. | | Cocoa Beach could be considered better to live in than Miami, as the cost of living in Miami is sky high, and has quite a bit of traffic and pollution. Cocoa Beach could also be considered better to live in than Jacksonville, which lacks the coastal town feel and the great shopping and surfing opportunities. | | Cape Canaveral Hospital is a full service, not-for profit hospital, providing quality care. | | There are so many great places to visit in Cocoa Beach. Ron Jon's Surf Shop receives 2 million visitors every year. The Cocoa Beach Pier and Thousand Islands Conservation Area are great waterfront spots, in addition to endless surfing and fishing opportunities. Nearby Cape Canaveral Space Center is also popular. |

The feel of Cocoa Beach is laid back and fun. It's a place to relax, kick off your flip-flops, and walk barefoot up the coastline. There are so many shops and points of interest to explore, great piers to fish and swim from, and unique festivals to take part in. It feels like a place to finally start those surfing lessons you've been wanting since you were a kid. The town feels welcoming and accepting of the crowds it attracts. | | | | | | |
