The weather here in Danbury is typically very humid and warm. It is much warmer than someone who lives up in North Texas would be used too. The winters last from about mid November to late March and then it starts warming and will be in the mid 80s until about June. The summer months can be very hot in the high 90s. If you are not used to the heat I would not recommend living in south Texas. It doesn't typically rain a whole lot more than anywhere else in Danbury, TX. It tends to rain a little more in the winter months and we never see snow. This past year it has been a little cooler than normal but typically by the time April rolls around it is already in the mid 80's. There is a chance for hurricanes but that isn't something that happens every year. | | I personally have not experienced any type of crime in Danbury, TX. Danbury is a very small town with less than 5,000 people living in this town. The worst thing I have heard about in town is that someone's BBQ pit was stolen out of their backyard. The crime rate is very low. There is a police force here and a fire station and the police force will make rounds at night to check on its citizens and drive through the main streets in town. It is a very quiet, calm town. | | The nicer parts of Danbury would include some of the nicer subdivisions near the middle of town next to the post office. These are avenue J and S and those roads. There are predominately educated Caucasian people living in these subdivided areas and nicer homes in the upper $200,000 rage. The less wealthy parts of town would include the older parts of town such as avenue K. There are some Hispanic that live in this part of town and some older homes with a little less land attached to each property. | | This is a small Texas country town. Whenever you think of a small, sleepy Texas town this is the type of town that will come to mind. Danbury is a very small town with predominately older Caucasian families living in this town. This town tends to have a lot of farm land and a lot of farmers and country type people that commute or work on the farm for a living. If you are younger and wanting to go to college I would not recommend living in Danbury because it is pretty far from a local college and there is not a good social or night life. This is more of the type of town that works best for families wanting to settle down. |

There is not a whole lot of shopping to be done in Danbury, TX. There is a little gas station that sells bread and other little things you may need as well as snacks. Then there is also the Dollar General. The Dollar General will have everything else you may need such as clothes or crafting supplies. | | There are a few restaurants in Danbury, TX. There is the locally family owned Phillip's who has amazing deep fried shrimp. The shrimp their are huge and very popular and good. There is also ZiZi's Pizza and they have a wonderful bbq pizza that is handmade. There is also a little doughnut bakery that has great Czech inspired koloaches. | | I think that Danbury has a good school district. There is a smaller student to teacher ratio than the neighboring towns and schools. That means that each student will get more individual attention for their teacher and help them succeed in their studies. | | There isn't a whole lot of opportunism for singles in Danbury, TX. There is a little restraint called Phillip's that you could go eat at to try to meet other singles but if you want to go meet people I would recommend driving into Angelton,TX the bigger town that is nearby. |

General comments | | | | | | |
Danbury is a nice and quiet town. I enjoy living in Danbury because I know myself and my family is safe. I don't have to worry about the crime that I would in the bigger cities. It is a nice place to live with pretty scenery. I wanted to move somewhere that wasn't entirely developed or crowded and Danbury was able to give me that. The people living in this town were open and friendly whenever I first moved here and I was able to make some friends fairly easily. I think Danbury is a great town for a young couple to move to and start a family. | | | | | | |
