City/State
Are you thinking of moving or relocating to Dearborn, Michigan? Would you like to know what the quality of life is like living in Dearborn?
Cory reports in this review:
WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
The weather in Dearborn, MI varies by the season and the month. The winter months are cold with temperatures ranging from 20-30 degrees. It is not unlikely to see some days close to zero degrees if you factor in the windchill. During January and February Dearborn gets snow. They typically receive a couple feet of snow every year. The summer months are much nicer with the temperatures ranging from 65-80 degrees. July is normally the hottest. During the month of July with the humidity it is likely that you will see temperatures near 90 degrees. There are several types of crimes in Dearborn. The most common crime that occurs everyday is burglaries. There are also many auto thefts in this town. Dearborn has some assaults as well. You will hear about robberies as well but not all that often. There has also been a few murders reported in this town as well as some rape cases. Dearborn, MI also has some smaller crimes such as drinking and driving and driving with out a license. These crimes happen nearly ever week. There are many nice neighborhoods in Dearborn, MI. I would check out the area around Oakman Blvd. The houses in this neighborhood come with a lot of square footage. Most of the houses in this part of town are newer homes just built a couple years ago. The houses range a lot in this part of town. The prices range from $150,000 up to $300,000. The Essex Street area is also very nice with homes ranging from $140,000 up to $175,000. The homes in this neighborhood are approximately 8-10 years old. The Jonathon Street area has homes a little cheaper if you are on more of a smaller budget. These homes in this neighborhood are much older. The homes may need a few new touches but the prices are a lot cheaper. You can get yourself a home in this neighborhood from $60,000 up to $100,000.There are many types of race in Dearborn, MI. The most common race in this town is white people. They also have a mix of blacks and Asians. It is likely that you will also see some Hispanics however not as many as the blacks and Asians. I would say most of the town is made up of middle class families. This town also has quite a few lower class families as well. Some people in this town are nice and there are some in certain parts of town that could care less about anyone and are only out to better them. If you are white you would fit in better being that most of the town is made up of the white race. Although a lot of the town residents that are respectful of others will welcome any race to their town.
Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
The downtown area is very nice. The landscape is always up kept. They have many small stores you can shop at. The homes downtown are pretty cool as well. Some of the homes downtown have that nice historical look to them.I would recommend that you try Jim's Place Family Dining if you are in the Dearborn area. The restaurant serves many different meals and the prices are great as well as the staff. You can be sure to find something you will find something you like to eat here. Another great place to try is the L.A. Bistro. They serve Italian food and the employees are always very nice. The schools in Dearborn are great. The staff seem to be very friendly. The teachers seem to enjoy their jobs and would do anything to help a student that is having a tough time. The sports program in this town is average. There are many bars and pubs you could meet someone at. If you are into the bar atmosphere then the local bar may be the place for you to find your soul mate.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
The most noise you may here is a plane flying into the neighboring town of Detroit. This is not all that bad tough. Besides the planes you really do not hear any other noises that you could not tolerate.I would compare Dearborn, MI to Detroit, MI. The drive time from one another is only about 10 minutes. Dearborn is on the outskirts of Detroit. I like the fact that Dearborn is a little smaller than Detroit but yet they still offer plenty of places to go shopping as well as plenty of restaurants. On the other hand the you can get homes a little cheaper in Detroit though. The residents in Detroit seem a little more rude to me than the residents in Dearborn. If i had to pick one place or the other i would choose Dearborn by far. The cost of living may be a little higher but the residents seem a bit nicer and the neighborhoods seem to be a lot safer. The Oakwood Hospital is the main hospital in Dearborn, MI. The hospital staff always are trying to keep their patients thinking positive. The hospital is about average as far as what they offer.I would check out The Henry Ford Museum if you are in the area. This museum is very neat and it also offers a lot of background on the town.
General comments
Overall the town has a nice feel. A lot of the residents keep to themselves. There has been quite a few burglaries in this town although there are some nicer neighborhoods where no one has been bothered. I would say if you get into the nice neighborhoods that the people normally keep to themselves. That is the part i like because i am not the type that wants everyone always looking at my every move. For the most part this town is clean and they keep everything up kept. The downtown area is nice and the town does have nice landscaping int his part of town. Overall i would raise a family in this town and feel comfortable. I would just really check out the neighborhood before you decide to get a house.
