The summers in Fort Mill, SC are hot and humid. For the most part the temperature during the summer is 90' to 95' during the day. There is sure to be a evening thunderstorm with lightning and rain down pours.The winters are cold and the air is dry. The average daytime temperature is about 30'to 40'. Occasionally there is some precipitation like snow, sleet, or freezing rain. On usual days in the winter, the temperatures is mild with daytime temperatures of about 50' to 55'. Winter nights here are cold and you will need a jacket/coat. The Spring and Fall are the nicest seasons here. The temperature is usually in the mid 70's and it feels great. | | Fort Mill, SC is a nice little town which is growing in terms of population but it doesn't see a load of crime. This town is considered safe by most of the residents. There are a few thefts, assaults, auto thefts, and burglaries. Most of the burglaries are gas station robberies. There is a major interstate which runs through Fort Mill which exposes it to some of the crime it sees but remains a safe town majority if the time. | | The best side if town is toward the interstate where you will find Baxter Village. This area offers beautiful homes which are in walking distance to street side shops and restaurants. There is also a YMCA and the public library in this same area. This is a very convenient neighborhood and just across Hwy 160 is another shopping area with grocery stores and a large hardware store.
This town is an all around nice town but the homes on the Eastern side near the Family Dollar are a little smaller. In these areas, even though the homes are smaller the streets are clean. | | The community of Fort Mill is a mix of natives and new comers and everyone lives together like one big family. Everyone is nice and friendly. There are young and single individuals here as well as a retired individuals. The married with children individuals blend right in. The town is pretty diverse with Caucasians, African Americans, Hispanic, Asain, and East Indian. For this to be a small town it gives you the feel of a small city. |

The downtown area is nice and has an historic feel with its buildings. There is a Hardees nearby so many just grab a burger and take a little walk down the sidewalks of downtown. | | The best restaurants are Fort Mill BBQ, Gold Hill Roasting Oven & Grill, and Towne Tavern At Fort Mill. | | The schools here are great and have high test scores. The graduation rate here is high as well. A good education town. | | For this to be a small town, being single is not all that bad. There are visitors that stop through on their way wherever as well as visitors from neighboring town, visiting Fort Mill's restaurants so you are sure to meet someone. |

The major highway which runs through a part of Fort Mill does contribute to the noise but only in the west area near I77. | | Fort Mill is a small town to Rock Hill, SC because it doesn't have as many restaurants as Rock Hill, SC. Fort Mill has area for career development but because Rock Hill is a larger town it has more jobs available.

Fort Mill feels like a little city tuck inside a small town. It is very busy yet peaceful. There is a large piece if grassy land that gives you the feel of the countryside. It is quiet and peaceful and just down the street is a Village, which is busy, alive, and entertaining. The live music in Baxter Village is an added positive for the resident looking for fun. | | | | | | |
