Garden City has ideal weather conditions. Summers are nice and warm and winters are just shy of chilly. During April we get a few inches of rain but never enough to ruin your plans. Spring is the best time of the year. The temperature is always perfect for a walk to the park. | | Living here for a while there is, I would say, an average amount of crime. People keep their doors locked and belongings close. The convenience store down the street from where I live has been robbed twice in a 6 month span. | | Garden City is populated by mainly Asians, African Americans and Caucasians. Most homes are modern but on Victory street the homes date back to the Civil War era. These homes are as beautiful as they are historic. They feature Gothic and Victorian style architecture. It's quite costly to live in the historic homes. Mainly white people and wealthy Asians live on Victory Street. Out side of Victory street it is much more affordable to acquire a small house. Mainly African Americans live in the more run-down neighborhoods. | | People here exhibit perfect southern hospitality. These are the kind of people that would gladly pull over to the side of the road to help you out if you are experiencing car trouble.People who will fit in are whites, blacks, Asians, the educated, the successful but most of all the polite. People who would not fit in are punks, hippies, gangsters, and gypsies. Garden city is a quiet, republican town. No one who lives there wants to be disturbed by liberals or and trouble they might stir. |
Downtown Area | | Restaurants | | Schools | | Single life |
The shopping mall is great. It has all your major retail stores including Macy's Forever 21, Guess, ect. | | The best restaurants are hole in the wall mom and pop shops. Nothing beats a nice southern breakfast from a local diner. | | I would say the quality of public schools is 7/10. Garden City does not have distinguished schools. | | There are many opportunities for singles to meet other singles. Garden City has quite a number of clubs and bars where people can go to meet each other. There are also malls and local restaurants. |
Noise | | town comparison vs. | | Best hospital | | Tourist attractions |
There is an airport close to Garden City however the noise is not extremely disruptive. | | This town is near Savannah and Atlanta which are quiet different. For the more outgoing city loving people, Savannah and Atlanta are much better. For those who like quiet country life, Garden City is much more desirable. The cost of living is much higher in Savannah and Atlanta. | | Garden City is too small for it's own hospital. One would have to drive over to Savannah. | | The nicest place to visit would have to be the parks. Garden City prides itself on it's surrounding nature. |
General comments | | | | | | |
This town feels very quaint and classic picket fence town house esque. People will generally greet you good morning and help you if you're in need. It's clean, quiet, and small. Imagine your perfect Southern town with neighbors who invite each other over to have a barbecue. That is what Garden City is like. Generally people are republican and anti-liberal. They do not support gay marriage or interracial marriage. | | | | | | |
