Renee Cohen reports in this review:
WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
The winters are pretty cold so get those coats ready if you move here. The average daytime temperature is about 30'to 40'. Some winters bring a lot of precipitation in the form of snow, sleet, or freezing rain. Although, snow doesn't remain on the ground the entire winter, it does occasionally show up. Occasionally the winters are mild with temperatures of about 50' to 55' during the day. Winter nights here are cold no matter how you look at it. The Spring and Fall seasons are very short but extremely nice. The summers here are relatively hot. The average temperature during the summer is 90' to 95'. If the day has been usually hot (95'or so) residents will experience a thunderstorm with dangerous lightning, heavy rain, and occasionally hail. The crime rate has began to increase somewhat as the city continues to grow. This is a college town and sadly the college students are prime targets of car break ins and a few car thefts. Although gas station armed robberies are reported on the daily news, they are not reported on a daily basis. Not to say armed robberies do not occur daily they simply don't make the evening news. There are also a few drug bust which occur but they're not gang rerelated drug bust. Although white collar crimes aren't as high as neighboring cities they do exist. From embezzlement to credit card fraud, the town also sees its share. The best side of town is the Battleground, Friendly Rd, and Pisgah Church Rd areas. These areas are mostly occupied by the upper middle class to mildly wealthy individuals. The homes are newer, larger, and moderately refaced. The worst side of town is towards the East side of town around Phillips Ave, East Lee Street, and 16th Street. The homes in these areas are ssmaller, older, and bump elbows with public housing. Majority of the residents in these areas are lower middle class to under privileged. This town is mixed with local natives, college students, and migrants from neighboring smaller towns. It is slightly diverse due to the number of higher education institutions it has. Many natives grow up here, attend college here, get married here, raise their children here, and retire here. The number of blue collar workers out weigh the number of white collar workers. The Hispanic population is on an incline in this town. There is a small noticeable African (Non African American/black) community here.
Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
Greensboro's downtown area has come full circle in the last five years. It is full of restaurants, shops, and art museums. The best restaurants are Village Tavern, Fleming's, and Harper's.On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest) the schools rate a 9This is a great town for singles simply because of the many colleges. If you want a companion, get out there and get one.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
The airport is to the West of the town and residents on this side of town are plagued with airplane noise. There is a major highway that runs through the city and there aren't many noise barriers.
Greensboro to Eden, NC- If you are looking for a great school to higher your/your child's education, this is the town. Eden, NC only has one community college. Greensboro also has more commercial restaurants to offer than Eden. When taking in a huge concert, you will definitely want to be in Greensboro. Most major tours are sure to make a stop in this town.

Greensboro to Reidsville - Reidsville NC is a quiet little town and most of its residents are natives which chose to make a home right there in Reidsville. Greensboro is a much larger town and more diverse. If you are looking for action, Greensboro is the town for you. If you are looking for a quiet little town to raise a family or retire, Reidsville is the town for you.
Moses Cone Hospital is the major hospital and it is quite busy. Wesley Long is also a great hospital but not as popular as Moses Cone. Mode Cone has the best surgeons and diagnostic centers. The nicest place to visit is Shoppes At Friendly. It has a lot of upscale shops and
high end rrestaurants.
General comments
Greensboro is a mildly active metropolitan. It has all the necessary happenings of a larger city yet it is not unbearably overcrowded and busy. The parks are filled with families enjoying the day and beautiful wildlife. It is a charming mini city with great restaurants and beautiful landscaping. On the weekends it is alive with musical events happening all over the city.
