Meagan reports in this review:
WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
The weather is fairly mild. Summers are warm and winters are cool, with some snowy days. Springs and summers have frequent thunderstorms. There is little crime in Hodgenville but I have heard about people's cars being broken into on several occasions. It's generally a nice area. Downtown there are some areas that are more low-income and not quite as safe, but there are lots of large homes and it's mostly a very safe area to be in.The people are incredibly friendly. It's just a small, country town and it's very relaxed. The people are kind and everyone seems to know everyone.
Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
The downtown is a cute little area with several restaurants and a Lincoln statue in the center of the traffic circle. However, there is little shopping. The best restaurant is probably the Hodgenville Grill, which has great catfish. The public schools are generally very well thought of.There is little to no opportunity for singles in such a small town.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
There is little unusual noise.Hodgenville is larger than some of the outlying towns but not as large as nearby Elizabethtown, where most people would go for shopping. Hodgenville has a few restaurants but little shopping. For any real emergency you would be transported to Elizabethtown's hospital. The nicest places to visit would be the fairgrounds and Lincoln's Birthplace.
General comments
The town is just incredibly relaxed and easy going. It's comfortable and safe. There are lots of farms and it's very country. It's a middle America, small town.
