Weather | | How much crime? | | What are the neighborhoods like? | | What are the people like? |
During the winter Holly Springs usually fluctuates in temperatures. It usually ranges within the early 30's to mid 40's during the colder months. With an occasional winter flurry or snow storm every two years. Over the past five years from seeing pictures and visiting family, Holly Springs has seen an abundance of Wintery Weather. Summers are hot and humid, and can be seen as early as April. Pollen is a big problem around this area and most people have a big problem with it. Hurricanes barley miss the center of the state as compared to the coast that gains a lot of heat from hurricanes every year. Other than that conditions are fairly normal and is what you expect from a small southern town. | | There has only been one murder to my knowledge in Holly Springs. It is one of the most safest towns you can be in to my opinion. The biggest crime you'll see around here is theft. However the subdivisions have metro police and neighborhood watchmen to keep an eye on things. I've had a bike stolen, and im content with that being the worst thing that's happened to me in this town. | | Sunset Ridge and Sunset Oaks are the biggest subdivisions in the Springs. High upper class individuals work there and are well off. The demographic is what you expect with a predominance of white and a few indian. Not that many bad parts of town but there are few places like Arbor Creek that have a bad rep for being overpopulated and dirty. | | People are extremely friendly in Holly Springs. Everyone waves at you and is willing to open their doors out to anyone in need. I've never had one bad encounter with anyone in town and that goes a long way. The town is predominately white, with a growing african american community. |
Downtown Area | | Restaurants | | Schools | | Single life |
The downtown area is nonexistent and just consists of the town hall, and Police station. | | Best restaurants may have to be Bass Lake Draft House, or Kobe Hibachi and sushi. Both are great places to eat and hangout with friends. Kobe has the traditional Japanese sushi feel, while Bass Lake is more of a family scene. | | We have a failing county when it comes to education systems. The schooling is not the best and it's tough to succeed with such an overpopulated district. I personally would advise private school, since the proximity to raleigh is close. Raleigh has a great array of private schools. | | Opportunity doesn't seem to be flirting around Holly Springs. Everyone there is established and has a family. It may be possible but I dont think there would be any good chances here. |
Noise | | town comparison vs. | | Best hospital | | Tourist attractions |
There is Highway 55 that stretches out to north raleigh. It does end up being a hassle if you live in an area right behind it. There is also a new baseball field being built and will cause some noise issues. | | Wake County is the biggest county next to Mecklenburg (Charlotte Area). All the towns and cities in Wake county are all similar. Cary, Holly Springs, and Apex all share similar qualities. Cary has the great living areas and is just a slight bit bigger. They also have way more shopping centers. Apex is close behind but is way more expensive to live there. | | Wake Med would be the best place to go when it comes to hospitals. HS is just outside of Duke and Chapel Hill's hospitals so Wake Med would be the best route. | | Definitely would visit Harris Lakes nature trail and visit the Park just off Town Hall. Womble Park is a state of the art facility that just got revamped from the town. Our community center just went through a 1.3 million dollar renovation and is a great place to stop as well. |
General comments | | | | | | |
The town to me is what everyone would see as the classic suburban town. It's where you will see that middle class family grow there foundation and raise their kids. It's the ultimate town to raise kids and that's why so many people move out here. | | | | | | |
