| The weather in the summer is always 10 degree cooler than Los Angeles. Summer months it ranges from 75-85 and a few times it has been in the mid-90's later in the summer months around July-Aug. Winters are very mild about 50-60 degrees. There is no need for air conditioning because there is a ocean breeze. In the winter, the fog can be very thick and hard to drive in. When it does rain, it will rain hard for a couple days at a time. We do have earthquakes that are mild. Being by the beach, there has been a couple tsunami warnings within the last 5 years. This beach city has a tsunami warning system and locations where a person would be save. | | This is surf city USA where the U.S Open bringing many tourist into the the downtown areas and beaches. There are a lot of DUI because people come from all over and drink and drive here. Downtown there have been riots during major events and brawls usually due to alcohol consumption. I have had personally my purse stolen during a busy time downtown and items stolen. We have problems with hit and runs with some leading to critical injuries. Much of the crime is tourist related as the streets are not like most areas. | | The areas around the beach are nicer to live by because of the closeness of the beach. Downtown main street is a nice tourist place with a lot of alcohol related problems as this is a party town. The areas more inland that are further from the beach areas are not good areas to live in as Utica/Florida St. This main race are white or caucasian very few minorities living in the area. There are million dollar houses next to apartment complexes.The houses are narrow and tall like that of San Francisco. Houses closer to the beach do not come with big backyards. Your yard in is the front of your house or you have a balcony. Houses further from the beach will look like track houses. Some of the best looking homes or more unique looking are scattered around downtown or the number streets from 1st to twentyth St. This is downtown. | | This is a party town closer to the beach. It is a hard place to raise a family because of the beach culture. Blue collar or lower incomes cannot survive in an area with higher priced real estate. I think older individuals will want to live closer inland area of Huntington Beach. It is a great place for singles to meet others as people come from all over to live here. I think African Americans will feel out of place with the lack of racial diversity. |

| Downtown is a nice area but more for tourist entertainment. The Bella Terra has a a lot of good stores with a Costco. The buildings are modernized and a few have the original brick otherwise it has all been rebuilt. There are a lot of specialty stores. They have a market night for fresh foods and great shopping for new business owners bring new products to the area. | | The best restaurants are located downtown main st with the variety of foods selections. I like Las Barcas for their Mexican food, BJ's pizza for great pizza and beer, Sugar shack has the best breakfast,Bodhi Tree Cafe has good vegetarian food, Ruby's on the pier has the best shakes/fries/burgers, and Fred's Mexican restaurant has the best drinks. | | The schools are good with solid programs and a lot parent involvement. At Huntington Beach High School, they have an separate school for performing arts school that anyone can attend with an application and a separate admission qualifications other than living in the surrounding area. The test scores are higher than some of the other communities. | | There is a good opportunity to meet singles with many bars with comedy shops, dancing, and karaoke for entertainment. There are many people at the beaches and tourist from all over the world, which means there are a lot of people to meet. |

| There are a lot of planes flying over and military looking air craft. Pacific Coast Highway One is the main highway and the noise can bother you with fast driver and loud cars. There are planes that advertise their banners during the day. | | The two towns closest this area is Fountain Valley and Newport Beach. Newport beach is a nice area and has a nice beach area. There is less parking available if you come too late in the day. Fountain Valley is not a party town but more conservative with good school and cheaper to live. Newport Beach and Huntington Beach are about the same with cost if not more. It is a smaller area but still very nice. Fountain Valley is more community related and has a large population of Vietnamese with Little Siagon. There are more shopping areas in Huntington Beach with the Bella Terra outdoor mall with nice restaurants. There are large stores like Target and Walmart with the same larger stores as inland areas. | | There is Huntington Beach Hospital is an average hospital. Orange Coast Memorial Hospital has great reviews and have a breast center for woman as well as a great outpatient surgery center. I have been to this hospital and the rooms are nice and the service is good. | | The Main St is nice to visit if you want to see art and surf museums. They are the wetlands that people love to take walks. There are fire pits on the beach to have a bonfire and smores. The pier is nice to go and see the ocean views. The beach is nice to have a day of fishing, swimming, and any type of water activities. The library is amazing like a Disneyland for readers/studying. |

| I think people laid back but a culture of drinking and drugs. The area looks nice to live in and is a great place to live if you love the beach and mild climate. The closer you live to the pier and downtown you will encounter a lot of partying beyond 10 pm. I have had neighbors coming back from the bars drunk and loud. The homes are so close to each other, so if your a private person this is a problem. People are overly friendly and you will know your neighbors. | | | | | | |
