The summers here are hot and humid and winters are cold. Sometimes there will be mild weather in the winter but this is rare. It snows every year but we rarely get hurricanes or any other extreme weather. The spring is mild and the fall is pleasant. You can always go out during these months and be comfortable. The only downside of spring is there is lots of pollen if you have allergies. | | There is not a whole lot of crime here, apart from burglary and theft which are average when compared to other cities. Most burglaries have to do with automobile and other kinds of property theft. The best way to be safe is to take precautions by not displaying valuables when parking your car. For the most part this is a safe community with friendly people. | | This is a quaint town with plenty of options when it comes to housing. The best places to live here are near Route 1 in the art district. The cost of living is affordable and there is a lot to do. | | The people here are friendly and if you ask, they will point you in the right direction. This community is very diverse with one third of the population being equally African-American, Causasian-American, and Latin- American. In addition, there are many other cultures including immigrants from Nigeria, Cameroon, India, Brazil and Ethiopia. |

Shopping here is fantastic. There is PG Plaza just up the road, a few smaller boutiques can be found on Route 1 and in College park there is a Rugged Warehouse. The Plaza has everything from department stores, boutiques, shoe stores, and Target and Marshalls for home goods and clothing. | | The best restaurants here are Shagga Coffee & Restaurant (Ethiopian), Busboys & Poets (American), Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, Franklins, plenty of Peruvian chicken and Caribbean food. Really there is something here for everyone, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Thai and more. | | The public schools here are not so good. There is a high ESL population and that is great for students who need this kind of specialization. However, the school system here does not rank high when compared to surrounding counties. On the bright side, there are good teachers and eager students everywhere and I have heard plenty of success stories from families here. | | This is a great place for singles. There are plenty of events, being so close to the University of Maryland and DC. There are happy hours every night. In addition, there is so much culture here and art openings are popular along with trunk shows. |

There are railroad tracks here and trains pass through daily. You get used to it after a while. In addition, there is lots of traffic on Route 1 and 410 East-West Highway. Avoid these areas during rush hour. At night this all quiets down. | | This town is similar to Mt. Ranier and Takoma Park, MD. Plenty of liberals and if you are LGBT you are safe. This town also reminds you of Adelphi, MD in that it is a mix of slow, provincial living with urban. There is so much to do at any time of day and it is close to many other surrounding communities with lots of options for entertainment and cuisine. | | The best hospital here is Prince George's Hospital Center and Washington Hospital Center is not far away. Whichever you choose, there are plenty of talented doctors and nurses on staff. | | There are lots of historical houses here to see, historic parks and the arts district is wonderful with plenty of activities for everyone. There are organic markets and farmer's market's here too. |
