The downtown shopping is amazing. The historical shops, some dating back to the late 1800's, are full of handmade bird houses, candy, local artifacts and delicious apple pie. It is only a few blocks long. | | There are several small coffee shops but also the Apple Orchards restaurant has great food, lots of hot apple pie. And the Mining Company has great steaks, seafood and apple pie. | | The public schools are very small and the student population is small. Since the permanent residents are less than 300, the children are few. | | Julian is a great place for singles to visit and perhaps spend the weekend and visit the many shops. |
