The weather in Kansas City, Kansas is pretty much the typical Midwest weather. It's hot and extremely humid in the Summer. Cooler in the Fall. Very cold and snowy in the winter and warmer, less humid in the Spring. The possibility of tornadoes is high in the Spring. There's a possibility of a tornado in the Fall. It rains the most during the Spring months.Crime in Kansas City, Kansas is pretty high in certain areas, mainly the more populated areas of downtown and low-income sections of the city. Similar to Kansas City, Missouri, Kansas City, Kansas has a high murder rate. Robberies are high as well. Most robberies are bank robberies. Gang activity is prevalent in certain parts of the city which is why the violent crime - murders, assaults, and robberies - are fairly common in the city.The worse part of town is the Quindaro area. This is one of the main streets located from downtown Kansas City, Kansas. kansas City, Kansas use to be known as Quindaro that's why the streets runs throughout the town. Quindaro is mostly low-income, about 85 percent of the residents are low-income poverty level. Most residents are of Hispanic and Black descent. About 80 percent of the homes are low-income, older (30+ years), and cost about $50,000 on average.

The best part of Kansas City, Kansas is the Piper area. The area is mostly middle-income with about 70 percent of the residents of White descent. The value of homes range about $75-$100,000. The area is pretty spread out. Most homes have at least 1/2 of an acre. Most of the homes are not fancy but newer compared to other homes in the area.
Kansas City, Kansas has a mixture of young and older residents, blue-collar and white-collar residents, and a good mixture of White, Black, and Hispanic residents. The heavy Hispanic population is in Quindaro. And the heavy White population lives farther outside of Wyandotte County. The reason for much of this mixture is that many residents work in the Kansas City, MO metro area. There is a nice sized population of farmers too. The type of person that won't fit in are hippies and people who are pretty progressive minded.

The downtown area in Kansas City, Kansas is close to a ghost town. Not much there but government buildings, small family restaurants, and crime. It's best to stay away from this area unless you have government business to conduct and shop in downtown Kansas City or the Overland Park area.The best restaurants in Kansas City is Gates BBQ, Oklahoma Joe's Barbecue, and Taqueria Mexico. There is some good barbecue in the city.The Wyandotte School District and Kansas City KS public school district is below average. The graduation rate is probably around 60 percent. The schools tend to be either overcrowded or close to being shut down to lack of students. The better school district is Piper School district which is about the equivalent to the Olathe School district.The opportunities for singles in Kansas City, KS is almost nonexistent. No single person would choose the city over other cities in Kansas, like Overland Park, Lenexa, or even Kansas City, MO, which are all about 20 minutes away.

The only unusual noise would be the highway systems surrounding the city and possibly the railroad tracks located mostly in Wyandotte, Quindaro area.Compared to Overland Park, KS which is about 15-20 minutes away, Kansas City, KS pales in comparison. The city seems to have been left behind and forgotten about. There are not many building projects and progressive ideas floating around Kansas City, Kansas as there is in Overland Park, KS. It seems as if Kansas City, KS is pretty much the inner city section of Overland Park.

Compared to Kansas City, MO, Kansas City, KS is like a small low-income neighborhood that has been overlooked. Kansas City, KS doesn't have anything near the opportunities or attractions that Kansas City, MO or Overland Park, KS lays claim to.
The main hospital is the University of Kansas Hospital. The hospital is one of the top hospitals in the country. Providence Medical Center is another exceptional hospital.The nicest place to visit in Kansas City, KS is the speedway racetrack, Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark, and Worlds of Fun located in Kansas City, MO.
General comments   
For the most part, Kansas City, Kansas is your typical Midwestern town. The people are conservative and don't engage in a great deal of progressive ideas that would promote the city. The city lacks in new buildings and growth due to the lack of funds and upper-class or wealthier residents living in the city. Kansas City, KS residents will take the less than 30 minute drive to Kansas City, MO for entertainment and other opportunities.
