tad brunton reports in this review:
WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
Here's the weather breakdown for Laughlin, Nevada: Very hot in the summer and pretty mild winters with no snow and very little rain throughout the year. Laughlin residents have felt several earthquakes in the past, but they were not strong enough to do any damage. Flash flooding can occur, so, when it rains hard and unexpectedly head for the high ground fast, because if you're anywhere near the floodplain or on a dirt road, you and your car can be washed away, never to be seen again. This happens very rarely, so don't worry too much. Just stay inside an air conditioned building in the summer and away from dirt roads if you think it's going to rain.Crime in Laughlin is like any other tourist and casino hot spot. Burglaries, thefts and the occasional violent robbery can occur when you least expect it. Remember where you are: in the middle of a desert in a place where people can lose ALL of their money that leave them feeling desperate. Don't get in their way and don't give them an opportunity to steal from you. Lock your car and hide your valuables. Don't let anyone see where you keep your money or how much money you have. It's none of their business. Always travel in pairs, if you can and stay in public areas. The apartment rental areas in Laughlin are located mostly on the west side side of the Colorado River bordered by Bruce Woodbury Dr. on the north and W. Casino Dr. on the south. These are all basically south of the resort hotels and casinos. Many retirees and a great deal of the casino employees live in this district. Many drug addicts also live in these apartments and are constantly on the lookout as to how to make money each day. Sometimes their methods include burglaries and theft, so be aware when you're in this area. Gated communities and single-family homesare available in Laughlin and provide plenty of safety and security along with comfort and luxurious living. Many of these are located just off Needles Hwy, just west of Bruce Woodbury Drive.Laughlin is made up of mostly white people and other races fit in. If you walk through any of the casinos, you'll find that the racial mix is pretty blended, including, white, African American, Asian, and Hispanic. It's pretty much the same acceptance in the town of Laughlin, too. There just happens to be more whites than other races. Laughlin is not an artist's community, it is a casino community along with being a retirement community. You'll fit in if you're old or young or in between and you don't have to own a BMW to feel like you fit in. Everybody is there either to enjoy their retirement or to get ahead by working in the casinos. So, don't worry what you look like. There is a place for you in Laughlin.

It's really too hot to go looking for a store in Laughlin. Stay at the casinos and shop there and you'll have a little more fun and relaxation time. If You don't like the prices or the goods, there is a mall right on the strip for your shopping pleasure. You can't miss it, it's on the same side of the street as the Thunderbird. The best restaurants are in the casinos. They are called buffets, and the absolute most fantastic buffets are in the Thunderbird and Harrah's. You'll love bother of them because the food is first rate and the environment is perfect. The junior and senior high school in Laughlin both received a rating of 4 out of a possible 10 at greatschools.org. Homeschooling is the way to go if you live in Laughlin, or send your kid to a good boarding school. Do people still do that? This place was designed for singles. There are at least fourteen casinos (and hotels), and each one of them can help you find your soul mate. If you can't get up the courage to at least say "Hi" to some beautiful creature of the opposite sex in one of these cool casinos, then you need to go to Lourdes, in France. Maybe you need a miracle.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
Slot machines are the loudest noises that you'll suffer through in this town. And the only way you'll hear them is when you're in the casinos. Stay out of the casinos or go to your hotel room and you'll never hear them again.Bullhead City, Arizona is right across the river from Laughlin. It's a dusty city that you could imagine might blow away at any minute. And a lot of people wish it would. Laughlin has Bullhead City beat by a mile as far as attractive living spaces. Bullhead City seemingly has no trees and no living things except humans, which are rather dried out and colorless. Yes, sorry about the bad review, Bullhead, but that's the way it is. Another town near Laughlin is Mesquite Creek, Arizona. This is a super small town with mostly retired folks in it, so there's nothing more to say about that. Laughlin is the place to be in that area of the world, especially the casino area. That part of the city is full of life and bright with lights and happy faces.Western Arizona Regional Medical Center is the place to go to when you need medical care. They provide an ER, surgical facility, diagnostic imaging and inpatient and outpatient services and have 90 beds in their hospital. They're located in Bullhead City just across the bridge from Laughlin.Harrah's hotel and casino is the best! Take a break from gambling and eat at the buffet. Then go outside and take a boat ride or rent a jet ski. This place really is accommodating to families. Bring the kids and have a ball.
General comments
Laughlin is a small town that services the casinos. It's not a fancy town and no one will mistake it for a cosmopolitan center of commerce and trade. It's a working town with badly stocked small convenience stores and the help doesn't seem to care if buy something or not. People who aren't working at the casinos are just biding their time until their favorite TV show comes on. So, Laughlin, the town, is not very attractive, but it does differ from the casinos and hotels on the strip. They shine and have great food and (some)beautiful women working there. Quite a distinction.
