The weather in Lenexa, KS, for the most part, has four distinct seasons. The summers are very hot and humid. The winters are cold with snow accumulation. The spring months are warm, and the fall months are cooler. However, there are times when the area can experience all seasons in one day. And the majority of residents, about 90 percent, are White. | | The people are mostly suburban, educated, young to middle age White residents. There is a mixture of single and older residents. But the average age is around 35 years old. About 90 percent of the residents are white collar, middle to upper-income level residents. The area is pretty conservative so there is not a huge presence, if any, of hippies or alternative lifestyles. Lenexa is more of a family town. |

There's really no downtown area per se. It kinds of blends in with the rest of the city so you're not aware that you are actually downtown." There are plenty of stores, restaurants, shops, and homes in the downtown area. | | Depending on your taste, there is Fronteras Mexican Restaurant, Edokko Japanese Sushi Restaurant, Mi Ranchito, and Panzon's. | | The Lenexa School District is excellent. The graduation rate is probably close to 95 percent. Most of the students attend college. Compared to Olathe, KS, Lenexa is more progressive with more upper-income level residents. The homes are newer and nicer. Lenexa is also larger in size and population than Olathe, KS. There are more younger and single people living in Olathe and Overland Park than Lenexa, KS. | | Shawnee Mission Medical Center is the largest hospital in the city. Concentra Urgent Care and Medical Center is another hospital in the area. | | The nicest places to visit are the many restaurants and the Oak Park Shopping Mall, which is a huge mall surrounded by many other separate stores to shop.
