City/State
Are you thinking of moving or relocating to Loma Linda, California? Would you like to know what the quality of life is like living in Loma Linda?
Jeffrey Rudolph reports in this review:
WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
The weather during the fall, spring is very nice. The temperatures reach the mid 70s, but when it is summer time the temperature can get over 100 degrees. During winter, it can get in the late 30's and can get a little windy. There is no snow specifically in Loma Linda. Big Bear is only a 2 hour drive away and there is snow there in the winter time There are no hurricane or tornados.Loma Linda is in the San Bernardino County and San Bernardino is not the safest area, but Loma Linda itself is a safe area. The areas next to Loma Linda Medical Center are very nice areas and I would recommend living there. Not much crime happens in Loma Linda. I always hear news about San Bernardino because it is not the safest area during night time. The best parts of town are in Loma Linda and Redlands. Downtown Redlands is right next to Loma Linda and this is a very nice neighborhood. San Bernardino is not the greatest neighborhood. San Bernardino does have nice houses, but I feel uncomfortable walking around the town. The only times I go to San Bernardino are during the day time to get lunch with a friend. The houses are very affordable in Loma Linda and the rent is not expensive at all for apartments.College students and graduate students will fit well in at Loma Linda. Loma Linda is known for its multiple schools and has a very good reputation. If you are looking to go for undergraduate or graduate studies, Loma Linda is a great place because the people are nice at the school and they are easy to get along with. If you have any questions, anyone will be more than happy to help you. Loma Linda does not judge anyone and no matter what race you are, it is a very accepting community.
Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
You would have to go to Downtown Redlands for that since Loma Linda does not have a downtown area.Oh Mai Pho is a great Vietnamese restaurant in Loma Linda. The spicy chicken sandwich is great! The publics schools are great in Loma Linda. There is an opportunity for singles since Loma Linda and Redlands are right next to each other and there are a great deal of college students.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
The only unusual noise is the construction done near Loma Linda University. The noise doesn't bother me since it is very minimal. Also, I always hear a train every now and thenLoma Linda is similar to Redlands and Colton. I would say Redlands is the better place to live because it has better restaurants and nice night life that has dive bars. Redlands has a nice mall and is full of other college kids in town. University of Redlands is minutes away from Loma Linda.Loma Linda Medical Center is the local hospital and it is one of the best. They have a children's hospital, heart and surgical hospital, and many other hospitals. The Medical Center is an astonishing building from the outside. I would recommend going to Redlands since Loma Linda is a small town.
General comments
This town is not exciting at all. It is known for its academics and most of the time the students are either working or studying. Loma Linda is known for its graduate school and the courses are very rigorous. Downtown Redlands is right next to Loma Linda and this is a nice town that has good restaurants and a good night life. There isn't much to do in Loma Linda besides getting food and going to your job or class. If you are looking for an exciting town, this is definitely not for you.
