Weather	How much crime?	What are the neighborhoods like?	What are the people like?
Summers are hot and humid. Winters can be chilly, and sometimes drop down to freezing. However, it isn't unusual for it to be 70 degrees on Christmas. Expect a lot of popup thunderstorms in the spring.	Crime is generally low. However, there are a lot of drug deals.	Good neighborhoods are on Main Street or directly off of Main Street, and are mainly populated by Whites. Don't expect any mansions- this is a very small Southern town. Once you get off of Main Street, you will run into low-income housing projects that are occupied by welfare families, which are mostly Black.	The people are very friendly, but it is a very poor town. There is an equal mix of Blacks and Whites, but no other races.

There is enough shopping to buy your weekly groceries, and you can find what you need for car maintenance. There are some small independent shops.	Movie Star, which is almost in Purvis	They aren't big enough to offer anything beyond the standard curriculum. Not much extracurricular activities or advanced classes.	No, you need to go to Hattiesburg.

There are train tracks and a lot of tractor-trailers.	Lumberton is very close to Purvis and Hattiesburg, both of which are larger and have more opportunities for shopping and activities. General comments
It is a sleepy Southern town with a decent amount of local stores and entrepreneurship. It is very small, and everyone knows everyone.
