The weather is temperate - winters range from 40 - 70's with moderate rain fall. The summers are hot - 60 - over 100's. There is a chance of high winds in the fall with winds up to 70 miles per hour.Crime is typically burglary, vehicle theft and assault. The city is fairly new with many new neighborhoods falling victim to burglary. The older neighborhoods border the town with more apartments and low income housing primarily occupied by Hispanics and mix of African American and others. The new homes are located on new land which was previously dairy farms. They are occupied by more affluent Caucasian and 'other' races. The people are primarily families with small children - 47% white, 48% black and the rest is a mix. The families are friendly and enjoy a variety of sports involving the children.

There is no downtown shopping area. There are only small shopping centers with markets, fast food, movies, and banks. To do any major shopping, one must travel to Riverside or Ontario to visit their major shopping centers. There are primarily only fast food restaurants in town. To go to a really good restaurants, you have to travel to Riverside or Ontario - only approximately 8 miles away. There you can find the Mission Inn, Salted Pig, Lucille's Bar B Q to name a few.The public schools are from kindergarten to high school. There are no colleges in Mira Loma. They are known for 'adequate yearly progress'.This primarily a family town with small children. Singles would be better off in a more college type town with better meeting opportunities.

With the growth of the town it is nice to get involved with the family sports and small town-feel. There is always someone there to help or shuttle the kids around.
