WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
Morton Grove's weather is essentially the same as the city of Chicago, though slightly warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter. Its summers are warm, but not unbearably so, and the winters hover around freezing or below most of the winter. There is very little violent crime in Morton Grove. It is not a suburb with open air drug markets or people standing on street corners. There is some property crime but it is far below the national average. Most of Morton Grove is fine to live in. It is primarily a suburb of single family homes with few large rental units. The highest crime occurs in the southeast area where it borders the Edens Expressway.Morton Grove is a family-oriented suburb with a small town way. Neighbors know each other and residents are friendly and helpful, even to strangers.
Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
Downtown Morton Grove is primarily small businesses and restaurants. It does have a shopping corridor that stretches down Dempster with a wide variety of well known stores and outlets. The best restaurants in Morton Grove are Burt's Place and El Sol restaurants. The public schools, both elementary and high schools are highly rated. Their sports programs are well-developed and successful.Morton Grove does have some bars but does not have nightclubs. It is more family-oriented than single-oriented.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
There are no unusual noises.Morton Grove is similar to Skokie and Niles in its ethnic diversity and friendly residents. There are two good hospitals, Skokie North Shore in Skokie and Advocate Lutheran General in DesPlaines.Morton Grove has may parks but its best feature is the St Paul Woods that runs through the suburb. It is part of the Cook County Forest Preserves and has a well-used bike and walking trail running through it.
General comments
It is a nice place to live and a great place to raise a family. There are plenty of parks and open space that lends itself to family activities.
