As one might expect, Park City's summers are warm and its winters are pretty darn cold. Summer temps are usually in the 70's and 80's, with an occasional 90 degree temperature day. Winter temperatures drop to the teens and single digits. Two feet of snow on average falls during each winter month, a fine powdery snow that the locals love, which earns the state of Utah the slogan "Best snow on earth!" | | The highest amount of crime in Park City comes from thefts, which tends to be the case with most resort towns. The high numbers of tourist and vacation properties in the area equate to higher numbers of break-ins and burglaries. The town overall has a safe feel, with low numbers of assault and battery and virtually no crimes such as rape or murder. | | Park City has very few poor areas or undesirable location. This mountaintop resort town is composed of beautiful historically restored properties alongside newer builds and constructions. The entire city has a "lodge" theme, with ski resorts and log condos built into the mountainsides. The downtown Main Street area is one of the most desirable areas in town, with multi-million dollar properties at both ends of the street. To find somewhat lower priced real estate, a buyer would have to venture to the more rural outskirts of the city. | | A unique group of people call Park City home year round, although the population majority is made up of tourists. The population is overwhelmingly white, followed by Hispanic and Latinos. Blacks and Native Americans make up a very small percentage. The most common types in Park City are well-educated liberal minded individuals. Young families with small children are common, as well as older retirees. The downtown area of Main Street with it's shopping and dining opportunities is an experience no visitor should miss. Noise sources include the nearby I15 freeway, tourism traffic, and outdoor events and activities. | | Park City could be considered better to live in than nearby Salt Lake City, where there is a higher population as well as a larger amount of traffic and pollution.

Park City has a unique feel, unlike any other place you've traveled to. It has a rich pioneer heritage and diverse cultural personality to it. The home of the 2002 winter Olympics, this mountain town has captivating charm. Many of its beautiful Main Street buildings are on the national historic registry.
