Are you thinking of moving or relocating to Passaic, New Jersey? Would you like to know what the quality of life is like living in Passaic?
Jake Dempsey reports in this review:
WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
The weather in Passaic is very average for the mid-Atlantic corridor. The summers are long and hot and the winters are cold and wet. There are many blizzards, nor'easters, and other sources of snow during the winter time. The weather in the summer is full of thunderstorms and also produces a rare tornado. There is not a lot of severe weather in this area, but we have been hit by several hurricanes in recent years. There is a great amount of crime in Passaic by virtue of our town being very close to New York City. Mostly there is a lot of drug trafficking that happens in the area as well as organized crime that results in burglary, theft, and extortion of businesses for safety. The police and FBI are always active in the city, as many murder investigations lead to the river area of the city due to the violence associated with gangs and drug dealers. The only good part of the town is in the historic area, where there are many older buildings including the City Hall and the library. While there are not many homes in the area, there are some apartments in the area that are expensive and well cared for. The majority of the people in this part of the town are white. However, the other areas of the city are full of rowhomes and apartments, that are home to a diverse racial group of individuals. The people in this town are broken down into two sections. There are the young, intelligent, educated, white collar workers that cannot afford to live in New York City despite the fact that they work in the city. They do not have children and live in any apartments that they can afford. The other people in the city tend to be single and young as well, but work poor blue collar jobs, if any, and are the individuals that contribute to the crime that plagues the city.
Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
The downtown shopping is extremely nice in this area, and has many small and large shops and retailers for you to choose from. The best restaurants are Vinnie Vega's Italian and then Marty's Cold Cuts. Some of the public schools in this area are very nice and well-funded, but others are absolutely horrible and are filled with bad students and teachers. There are many nice bars and clubs in this town that can serve as access to other singles.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
There is a lot of noise from the airports in New York, the highways, as well as the trains. One of the neighboring towns is called Clifton. They have many of the nicest houses in the area, and are both a suburb to our town as well as New York City. They are home to many yuppies and have a very high cost of living, but given the safety and the openness of the land, it is better to live in Clifton. Another city that is close by is Manhattan. It is the busiest area in the entire world, with the best shopping, highest cost of living, and some of the most interesting people in the world. Most of the people that live in Passaic wish to one day live in Manhattan. We typically attend St. Mary's for all severe injuries, and they are good for everything, but they need a larger area. The nicest places to visit are the riverfront and the historical district.
General comments
For the most part the town feels like a bustling center of commerce. While New York never sleeps, Passaic never stops working. There are always businesses and shops running, having deliveries, and people going to and from work. The town feels safe enough if you avoid the gang areas, and there are plenty of nice palces to visit. After dark, however, you will want to avoid the city because it feels incredibly unsafe.
