Heather Nance reports in this review:
WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
The weather here in Pearland is typically very humid and warm. It is much warmer than someone who lives up in North Texas would be used too. The winters last from about mid November to late March and then it starts warming and will be in the mid 80s until about June. The summer months can be very hot in the high 90s. If you are not used to the heat I would not recommend living in south Texas. It doesn't typically rain a whole lot more than anywhere else in Pearland, TX. It tends to rain a little more in the winter months and we never see snow. This past year it has been a little cooler than normal but typically by the time April rolls around it is already in the mid 80's. There is a chance for hurricanes but that isn't something that happens every year.I have heard of some crime in Pearland, TX. About two years ago there was a problem where women in there mid-late 20s were getting kidnapped in broad daylight in shopping centers in Pearland leaving the stores walking through the parking lot. I don't think they ever caught the person that was responsible. I have not heard of anything else since then but you always need to be careful. I personally have not experienced any crime in Pearland but you need always be self aware. The nicer parts of Pearland would be closer to the Silver Lake area that is closer to highway 288. There is a lot of doctors and people that work in the medical center living in this area of town that commute back and forth to Houston everyday. They are mainly the more expensive type of homes and nicer subdivisions. The worse parts of town are in the older parts of Pearland closer to the high school and that is where the older homes are located. It is still a nice area just with older homes and middle class.I think that anyone would be able to fit into Pearland, TX. In some ways Pearland reminds me a little of Austin, TX. I think that the young and old would fit in here as well as single and educated or blue collar workers and any race from white to Hispanic to black. Pearland has a huge diversity of ethnicity living in this town and there are tons and tons of business and jobs and opportunities for everyone. Everyone seems to be very open minded and down to earth.

Pearland has a lovely downtown area with a outdoor mall and tons of areas to go shopping in. The Silver lake area part of town has a ton of things to do and places to shop at.There are so many restaurants to choose from it is hard to narrow it down. If you really like to eat burritos I would recommend Free birds Burritos. There is also a Red Robin for hamburgers and a lot of good tex-mex restaurants.Pearland has a very good school district. I know they have a bigger school district and very good football and basketball teams with plenty of things for the youth to do.There are tons of things for singles to do. There are a lot of little bars and nightclub's in Pearland. Boagies is a nice place to visit for a drink and an appetizer on karaoke night to meet some local singles.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
There is a lot of traffic in Pearland so you will hear the cars on the highway from the traffic. There is also an airport in the neighboring town so you will hear the planes flying over to land at Hobby airport but other then that its not too awfully noisy.Compared to Alvin or Houston, TX Pearland has a lot to offer. Pearland has tons of shopping areas that Alvin does not have. Pearland is also a little smaller than Houston so you don't have to deal with the big major highways but you still have tons of shops available to you as well as University of Houston Pearland Campus. You can attend a University without having to fight all of the traffic going into Houston downtown. There are a couple of Emergency room clinics and there is also the Methodist Pearland Hospital of highway 288 that is a great hospital with state of the art equipment. The outdoor mal is a great place to visit as well as some of the public parks in Pearland. One of the parks has a pretty big walking trail and a pond.
