The weather is mild most year round. Perris gets only about 10" of rain per year. The summers can get up to 100 degrees and winter lows can drop to 35. | | The police in Perris have a Crime Prevention Program and Special Enforcement Team to help keep crime down. The biggest crime is theft at shops and residences. | | Apartments and low income housing are primarily in the older parts of town and are occupied primarily by Hispanics and African Americans. The newer homes, built in the past 10 years, are in the outskirts of town and are occupied by families with small children. There is not a primary downtown area in Perris. There are several small min malls with fast food, convenience stores and gas stations. You must go to nearby Moreno Valley Mall to do major shopping. | | The best restaurants are in Moreno Valley just a few minutes away. Olive Garden and Casa Mexicana are the most well known and frequented. | | There are 2 school districts within Perris. There is not a college. The schools recently integrated technology classes, agricultural research and robotics to help their students advance and have equal opportunities in education and work. | | Perris is not a great town for singles. It does have a few recreation areas but they are not aimed primarily for singles. |

There is a reserve air base within 8 miles of Perris and it does contribute to air noise when they are flying cargo planes. | | Perris is bordered by Hemet and Moreno Valley. Hemet is very similar in ethnic mix, housing and shopping. Moreno Valley has passed Perris in growth in opportunities in business and housing. | | The best hospital is in adjacent Moreno Valley, the Kaiser Medical Center. It has everything but a major trauma unit. | | Perris has several nice recreation areas. Perris Lake is great for boating and personal watercraft. There is the Train Museum and Moto Cross Park where you can watch motorcycle races on Friday nights. |
