Weather	How much crime?	What are the neighborhoods like?	What are the people like?
Redlands somehow seems protected or shielded from the weather that the surrounding cities get in that area. A few miles away the winds can reach up to 80 mph, but in Redlands, only sweet little breezes pass through this almost perfect town. It hardly ever rains and snow appears only on extremely rare occasions. This town is really an oasis in the desert, as it is in the ideal spot to avoid hurricanes, tornados, mud slides and flooding. The year-round splendid climate is what California is legendary for.	Stolen cars seem to be the worst crimes in Redlands. Also, if you leave your valuables inside your car and within view, just say good-bye to them, because they will be gone before the sun comes up. These kinds of crimes seem to be crimes of opportunity rather than organized and planned. In other words, if a thief or potential thief sees something he or she wants and it's easy to steal, (car unlocked, window down), then he or she will take it. Trust in the Universe, but tie up your camel. That simply means that you can avoid thievery and inconvenience if you take a few simple precautions and protect your possessions.	There are some very good parts of Redlands and a few questionable neighborhoods. The area around the University of Redlands is a very old part of Redlands and it's also rather quaint and safe. That can run from Citrus Street to Judson and Central to Lugonia Ave. The houses there range from brand new to those built in the 1930s, 40s and 50s, which are quite attractive and affordable, compared to some other parts of California. Generally, west of Texas Street and north of Lugonia one should keep one's eyes open and car locked.	Redlands is known as a University town, so there are thousands of young, college kids in the area. However, downtown, you'll find a mixture of types of people, such as professionals, retailers and blue collars. The racial mixture is mostly white and Hispanic, with small numbers of Asians and Black people. On State Street, you'll see just about everybody who lives in Redlands if you hang out there long enough. They all come for the interesting shopping and the farmers' market that's held once a week. Redlands residents' ultimate image, however, is that of middle-class, highly educated people who have purpose in their lives.
Downtown Area	Restaurants	Schools	Single life
Redlands has all the makings of a classic All-American City. When you walk down State Street, you'll see why. The little shops on both sides of the pedestrian-friendly shopping district are friendly and welcoming. There's plenty of food, gifts and all other types of shopping available there.	Redlands has a lot of restaurants, from casual to fine dining. Some of the more notable venues include, The Restaurant of Joe Greensleeves, which has terrific American and European meals, and among many others, Isabella's Ristorante Italiano. This is truly good Italian food.	Public schools are very substantial in Redlands. Many of this town's residents go on to receive bachelor's and masters degrees and employers as well as college admittance personnel usually look twice if they see that the applicant is from Redlands.	Being a college town, there is always room for singles of all ages in Redlands. There are also plenty of places, events and opportunities for singles to meet like-minded people.

The only noise that could interfere with your daily routines in Redlands is if you live near the 10 Freeway. Of course, you'd have to live pretty close to it because Cal-Trans builds sound muffling walls to keep most of the traffic noise from leaving the road itself.	Redlands is one of the nicer towns to live in in the Inland Empire. San Bernardino, just a few miles north of there, used to be the metropolitan keystone in the area forty to sixty years ago, but it has descended into decay and bankruptcy. It is not a nice place to even drive through anymore. Loma Linda, however, to the west of Redlands, is a University and hospital town. It has a lot of things going for it but Redlands just has that something extra that's almost hard to describe. Redlands has a certain attractiveness about it that makes you almost immediately want to call it home.	Redlands Community Hospital, on Terracina Blvd. is a high quality hospital that serves the needs of Redlands and the surrounding areas. another hospital that is near there is Loma Linda Hospital, which is also a teaching hospital.	There are plenty of interesting things to do in Redlands, but one that will stand out with almost everyone is the Lincoln Memorial Shrine. They have all things Civil War and Abraham Lincoln in this little museum on Vine Street. There is even a Civil War issued Medal of Honor on display. Take the tour, you'll be surprised at what you'll learn.
General comments
Redlands is first class city surrounded by mountains and orange groves. It comes off as a town of the upper echelon and has a great deal of modernity as well as tradition. Just walking down State Street on a Saturday morning will tell you all you need to know about this town. You'll see friendly faces, smartly dressed people and residents who actually care about their neighborhoods and fellow citizens.

Weather	How much crime?	What are the neighborhoods like?	What are the people like?
The weather in Redlands during the summer months can get over 100 in August.Summer like weather can come during the spring but summer starts from mid May to mid September. Winters can be chilly down to the 40's but usually no snow. There is extremely windy times throughout the year because they get a wind called the Santa Ana, which is a wind that comes from Orange county to San Bernardino County. This wind can be up to 80 miles blowing through all of the cities around it.	There are few crimes in the area but once there was a guy stocking school age kids but I've seen a criminals being chased through Redlands. In the 6 years living there, very few crimes occur. It is a place where you can go to the ATM machine late at night without an problems. Please walk and jog around the neighbor without any fear of being attacked.	The best parts of the town is around the University of Redlands, South side of the 10 Freeways because expensive Victorian and older homes are found in the hill by Ford Street. Most of the neighborhoods are primary upper middle to rich live in these houses. The freeway exit to Orange on the North side of the 10 freeway are older and run down homes and there is a mixture of different minority living there. East side of the University of Redlands have a nicer area but houses that people take good care of. South West of the free are more apartments that house many employees of ESRI, which is a big company that houses many of employee from India and Canada. Most of these area are majority White/Caucasian living there.	This is a family friendly place that have kids in various sports at young ages. There is a lot of old money in the area with higher incomes. Young college ready students will fit in at the university. Singles with middle class incomes can live well. All races will fit in but minority will know there are less of their race when their children attend the schools. The people are nice and very family oriented. The University of Redlands is very welcoming and has some of the best staff members that make out of the area students happy with their decision to attend this school.
Downtown Area	Restaurants	Schools	Single life
Downtown is clean and well kept up. There are a variety of old trade shops and good restaurants. They have a Market Night which all the fresh fruit and vegetables and specialized products. Many new businesses have booths there to showcase their new business. There are shopping centers with a Super Target and Walmart with similar type shopping stores.	Las Brasas is a good Mexican restaurant. Le Basil has a good South Asian type food, which is a sit down restaurant. Famous Dave's Dave's is a good place for ribs and bbq styled foods. The Gourmet Pizza restaurant is wonderful if you are looking for a good pizza with a variety of topping like mash potatoes. Nick's Burger has great burgers. Hello Sushi has the best and fresh all you can eat sushi. Baker's is the best fast food restaurant with burger and burritos with good fries. Papaya Bay is good for Thai food. There are a 100 different restaurants to chose from but these are my favorites	School are of good quality because the parents are very active in volunteering. Many of the programs in performing arts have loss all their funding but the parents are active in making these programs available to all students.	There is a good opportunity for singles with the University close and many singles can find love attending it. The quality of people are better because people have higher incomes here and can potentially find a financially stable mate who wants to raise their children in Redlands.
Noise	town comparison vs.	Best hospital	Tourist attractions
The noise comes from the 10 Freeway, which passed through Redlands and the private airport if you live on the borders of Redlands and Mentone.	This area is comparable to Yucaipa and Loma Linda because it is smaller than your city with nice track home and older homes. Loma Linda and Redlands both have hospital but Yucaipa does not. Redlands has less of a country feel as Yucaipa. Redlands is better because it has more shopping centers, which people in Loma Linda and Yucaipa have to come to in order to go to these stores.	Redlands Community Hospital is a good hospital but it is not a world famous trauma center like Loma Linda University Medical Center, which is known for the infant heart transplant. It has an excellent Cardiology as people come from all over to seek out treatment.	They have a great movie theatre and the Thursday night market night. Main Street has great restaurants and specialty stores. The University of Redlands has a beautiful campus that people use to do photo shoots.
General comments
This city of about 60,000 people is growing as new shopping centers and new schools. It appears to be a family oriented place where big city people can live a slower pace life. It feels like the suburbs with out the big traffic jams of Los Angeles. The area is well cared for and you can see it with the buildings are in good shape in the main street of the town.
