Life in San Francisco, California

Are you thinking of moving or relocating to San Francisco, California? Would you like to know what the quality of life is like living in San Francisco?
Steve reports in this review:

Winters are warm, in the 50's, 60's, and sometimes even 70's. Summers are cold, overcast, and very windy in the 60's. It's amazing how cold it gets with the wind and no direct sunlight. It's all over the place, but especially in the Mission District. Latiino Gangs roam around and no car is safe from breakinds. The worst thing is that parking is hard to find so you can walk blocks to get to/from your car and be an easy target. Aren't even many garages in a lot of residential areas.Pacific Heights, Marina are the best parts; Mission District, Hunter's Point, worst. Some crazy people like Noe Valley, and of course if you like the gay thing there's the Castro.Friendlier than some places but keep in mind it's still a big city. People driving their cars and cutting you off don't seem very friendly (by the way, driving in SF is a nightmare not only because of aggressive drivers but super steep hills and many street nazi rules that won't permit left turns for miles).
Single lifetown comparison vs.General comments
Tremendous opportunities for single women--take your pick of men!San Francisco has much better weather than Seattle (less rain) and is warmer. But I think Orange County, by the water, has even better weather than SF (not as cold in the winter), though Orange County has a desert climate and is even more crowded, I think. And San Diego has the best weather of all, but it's a desert and the beaches are filled with fly infested seaweed.A hodgepodge of different little neighborhoods, not one big cohesive city. The best part is the quieter northwest, Land's end and ocean beach.
