Weather | | How much crime? | | What are the neighborhoods like? | | What are the people like? |
The weather here is not too bad. Beautiful autumns with colorful trees and hot-but-not-too-hot summers. There are never any natural disasters here, and if there was...you would know because nothing here is built too well. The roads here in the winter are pretty bad, but there isn't much traffic around here. | | This is a pretty small town and there isn't any crime I've heard about. The people here seem to be quite paranoid. Sometimes I go into a store and they follow me around assuming I'll steal. It can be quite aggravating. People keep to themselves here, there isn't any crime. There isn't even a city near by. | | If I had to pick a good area, it would be around West State Street and all the streets off of it. Most of the food, shopping, and homes are around here. Everywhere else is land. The homes are generally cheap and basic looking and were built in the 50's. This isn't a low class town, but I wouldn't say it's high class either. It's very country. Because of that, everything in this town is very similar. It's not diverse. I would say the majority of the people who live here are white families and white old people. | | The people here seem to be from a different era - seriously. Many old people live here. Country people live here. If you are a city person, or even a suburbia kind of person, you will NOT fit in well here. There isn't much to do here for you if you are looking to do anything else but work at Burger King and own a farm. And it's not country in the sense there are nice markets, beautiful landscapes and such. It's country in the sense where you fear everyone has shotguns and you feel dirty when you enter the town. |
Downtown Area | | Restaurants | | Schools | | Single life |
Worst shopping area I've ever seen because all they have is two mediocre clothing stores and no downtown area at all. | | They have the original Quaker Steak and Lube if you're interested in that. | | Not that great. Small, not much money, bad sports. | | No. Not at all, unless you drive an hour and a half to Pittsburgh, |
Noise | | town comparison vs. | | Best hospital | | Tourist attractions |
There isn't any noise sources nearby, it's pretty quiet. | | Two close places are Pittsburgh and Franklin. I recommend them both over Sharon. Sharon is truly a disgrace to PA. There isn't anything interesting to do here and they try to make it seem like it's a must-see place! Pittsburgh has so many tourist opportunities while Franklin is the perfect area to live and raise a family. | | The Sharon Regional Health System. It's okay, but not the best. Nice people there but if you have an emergency you can't rely on them. | | I guess Quaker Steak and Lube would be interesting to go to. |
General comments | | | | | | |
This town makes me feel gross. In ads, they advertise it as some beautiful tourist location but there is NOTHING here. They claim to have a mall but the mall is one floor with 4 stores. Not even kidding. They claim to own the biggest dress outlet but when you get there it isn't that big, the dresses are cheap and overpriced. Getting around here is also very complicated...always road work being done and there isn't many roads or shortcuts. I wouldn't go to Sharon unless you absolutely have to. | | | | | | |
