The weather here is hot and humid during the summer. There are days when you feel like you can't breathe. Luckily these are mostly in the month of July and August. You can get away without gloves on plenty of days but if you wear them you will feel like it is fall instead of winter. Springtime here is mild and lovely. There is plenty of pollen during late March to early April, so if you have allergies watch out. | | What a safe place to live and work. There is a railroad that comes through Silver Spring but it is not noisy like in other places. I've only heard the whistle late at night. During the daytime, the train carries coal daily from West Virginia, so if you like train watching you can see it from the many platforms around town. | | This town is not as high strung as D.C. but it is not quite as low key as Baltimore. This town feels easy and safe. The people are pleasant and if you need help, just ask. People are friendly and will go out of their way to help. If feels like a mix between hippy-laid-back and sophisticated. | | | | | | |
