WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
Typical weather for Maine in any Maine town. The summers are hot and the winters are ice cold. Sometimes you have frozen pipes depending on where you live or power outages in the winter time. That is no fun at all, having to wait for the power to come back on. In the summer time thunder storms can be so horrid that the lightening knocks out the power too. I haven't really heard of any flooding and never seen any in Standish due to the rain or snow. I think that is for other places. There isn't too much flooding in the state of Maine unless there's a water pipe broken somewhere.
Crimes that I think are in Standish would probably partying too hard and a neighbor calling the cops on them because the party goes into the wee hours of the night. I haven't seen on the news or heard of any real crimes in Standish when I use to live there. I think that the population in Standish just like to have a good time on the weekends and they get a little rowdy. As in the city rowdy usually means someone's getting stabbed. That's not the case for Standish. The worst part of Standish you really can't say is a street or a neighborhood. I would have to say walking through the woods and bumping into someone who is waiting to come out and look for trouble. Most of Standish is nothing but woods really. No one really bothers each other. I think that the housing might be expensive then other places only because it's secluded and it's nice and quiet. That's what some people are looking for is the quietness in life and sometimes that's a pretty penny to have if you can afford it.
I think that outsiders wouldn't be welcome in Standish. Like if You're passing through because most people in small towns will know one another and wouldn't be pleased to see someone knew coming around not sure if they are there to cause trouble or if they are just trying to be friendly. A tight knit community keeps an eye out for things like that. I think it's more of a safety first routine for everyone involved just looking after one another like we all should do more often.

It's alright. Not much for clothes shopping. More for food and take out more or less. You have to go to mall to get the fun shopping in.Maine street Grill is pretty good. I like how on the Holidays they try to do something festive to celebrate the holiday with the customers.I haven't been to public schooling for Standish so I wouldn't be able to say how the schooling system is there. Not much for looking for single people in the country. Either you're married or someone hooks you up with one of their friends. Other than that I don't think that there is anything to do not many single people.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
Unusual noise would be cars going by or the breaking of glass. Stuff like that you have to call the cops when it comes to the country life because you know unlike the city you hear it more often and don't really think about it. Out in the country something's wrong if you hear that kind of noise and you don't hesitate to call the cops.
Buxton and Hollis. They are both just as secluded you would have to go to Biddeford to get any shopping done for clothes or just to go out and have a good time. I think that is like most places that are out in the country. There really isn't much going on and not much to do. Which is hard for a lot of people. Some just go to work and come straight home for the day.Quick Care would be the easiest place to go. Out of Gorham. From my kid's personal experience they are good place to go to. They don't make you wait long and when you get a room to get checked out within ten minutes a doctor comes and checks you out and recommends what to do next.Would be the woods. Something's always going on out there. Whether you are going for a nature walk or just taking a hike because you're bored.
General comments
I like Standish to a point. The country towns you really need a car just like in the city. Some cities you can walk everywhere. Not when you're out in the country you can't. You have to have some kind of transportation and I don't even think that the city buses run out there so if you have no car you are stuck where you are for the most part. I like Standish a lot. There's not much going on and it can be boring but it can also be quiet relaxing. Going fishing or if you go hunting that will take up most of your time right there.
