Tammy Foster reports in this review:
WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
In the summer, temperatures are usually between 70 and 85 degrees, but be prepared because on some days you will also see temps rise into the 90's due to the humidity. In spring and fall, temperatures are usually between 50 and 70 degrees. However, in the winter temperatures can soar below zero due to the wind chill factor. You will see some rain and thunderstorm sweep over this town during summer, spring and fall. You will also see snowstorms and an occasional ice storm occur during the winter months. An average this town gets hit with about 10 inches of snow during wintertime.Thefts, burglaries and auto thefts are the three most common major crimes that occur in Temperance. You might also hear about an occasional arson or robbery in this town. I don't believe there has been any murders reported year within the last several years. You can expect to see minor crimes happen here like traffic violations, domestic violence issues or a vandalism. Occasionally, you will hear or see someone getting picked up for drunk driving or for retail fraud. Overall, I believe that there are way more minor crimes taking place here than there are major crimes. There are some luxurious houses on Sterns Road and Taylor Avenue, many of these homes were built within the last ten years. In addition, almost all of them look beautiful inside and out. This area of town is South of Indian Creek Park. Many residents say this is one of the best areas in Temperance. There are some much older houses on Oakridge and Woodside Drive, many of these houses are pretty old and in need of some updating to be considered modern housing. This area of town is north east of Indian Creek Park. Many residents say this area of town is one of the bad parts of Temperance. Most of the people seem to be very nice, a couple of times when we visited Temperance we talked to a few people that seemed to be rude, but I think they were just busy and didn't feel like talking to us at that current time. There are mostly white people living here, we only seen a few people from other races. In addition, I think most of the people we talked with were married and had children of their own. Many residents appeared to be in their late thirties to early forties. Overall, if you are a middle aged person who is married with or without children than this town would be a perfect place for you and your family to live, especially if you are looking for a home in this region of Michigan.
Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
There are a few good stores downtown, I don't really have a favorite shop, though.Maggie's Cafe offers some really good food, yummy. The school system is very good.Rivalry's is one place where singles go to mingle with other singles, but many singles travel to other neighboring towns to get some fun at more popular nightclubs.
Noisetown comparison vs.Best hospitalTourist attractions
There is Erie Aerodrome in Temperance, sometimes it can create loud noises, but I never heard to many residents complain about it.Lambertville is a neighboring town to Temperance, these two towns are about ten minutes from one another. Lambertville is a little bigger than Temperance, it has a little more to offer in regard to entertainment, shopping and restaurants. Petersburg is a neighboring town to Temperance, these two towns are about twenty-two minutes from one another. Petersburg is much smaller than Lamberville and Temperance thus it has a lot less people living in it. If I were to recommend any of these towns I would say choose Petersburg due to the fact that it has less people and is much quieter than the other two towns. However, if you like living in larger cities choose Lambertville, I believe it has a little more to offer in entertainment and shopping. Many residents of Temperance travel to Toledo Ohio to get medical care from Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Toledo is about 17 minutes from Temperance.Vienna Park is a nice relaxing place to take your kids, my grandkids love it at this park.
General comments
Temperance has some really pretty scenery and offers visitors and residents a clean environment. For the most part, everyone who lives here is nice and friendly to outsiders. Many of the houses are really pretty and luxurious, anyone would love living in these homes. This town is a beautiful clean town and located less than an hour from Adrian College so it is a great town for college commuters. I really like the scenery, people and events that take place in this town. I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting in this region of Michigan.
