Maggie reports in this review:
WeatherHow much crime? What are the neighborhoods like? What are the people like?
The weather in Thousand Oaks is usually on the cooler end during winter months and can be quite hot during summer. Winter consists of heavy rain and wind but luckily no hurricanes and never any snow.Crimes that I have heard of that have occurred are burglaries, thefts and many registered sex offenders have been found in this city.La Granada, Erbes,Sunset Hills and Lang Ranch are some of the good neighborhoods. Most are white and of upper class. The houses are of higher end properties. The only bad area is south of Thousand Oaks between Thousand Oaks Blvd and the 101 freeway. The people in Thousand Oaks are quite friendly and have families. Majority of the people living here are business owners or have a family of their own who prefer more solitude as opposed to the city. There are many white and Hispanics who reside in this city. Whites are at about 70% of the population and Hispanics are at 16.8%.
Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
The shopping centers are very nice and have many stores within the shopping center. The Oaks Shopping Center is one of the few nice places to visit when in need of shopping or eating. One of the best restaurants in Thousand Oaks is Mastro's Steakhouse. The public schools are of good quality here but there is some variation. There are many good quality teachers. There aren't much opportunities for singles in regards to bars or clubs. However, there are many shopping centers and restaurants to meet singles.
NoiseBest hospitalTourist attractionsGeneral comments
There are no unusual noise sources in regards to planes. The highways are usually blocks away from residential homes. The best hospital is Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center. Some of the nicest places to visit are The Lakes at Thousand Oaks and Thousand Oaks golf club. The town feels very quiet and most of the stores are not in walking distance. It feels like a town where retired or business owners with their own family would want to live.
