Weather	How much crime?	What are the neighborhoods like?	What are the people like?
Truckee is a mountain in Northern California so the weather is very cold, below freezing, up to 10' of snow during a really cold winter. And clear blue skies with temperatures in the 70's during the spring and summer. There is an occasional time when the roads are closed due to heavy snow.	Being a resort tourist town, the crime mostly consists of some burglary and home robberies. There are many cabins that are not lived in full time so they are subject to more break-ins.	Truckee's neighborhoods are spread out over the vast mountain sides. There are only a small percentage of condominium/apartment type homes - 20% that are closer in towards town. The residences are 75% middle to upper class Caucasian who visit the area mostly in the winter for snow sports.	The people are friendly, outgoing and very sports minded. They are mostly Caucasian with a small 25% being Latino and Asian. Being a tourist town, the stores and hotels have very nice considerate staff. There is always someone available to help with directions or town information.

Downtown is full of fun shops, art galleries, restaurants and coffee shops. There is a place for everyone at any time of the day or night.	Blue Coyote Bar and Grill and Manzanita at the Ritz Carlton have some of the best food in town, great atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonable priced.	The students are bused to nearby Tahoe for school.	Plenty of fun things for singles to do. Great hiking, skiing in Tahoe, hiking, and great bars and restaurants.

It's very quiet at the top of the mountain.	Truckee is close to Lake Tahoe which boasts similar activities and weather. The biggest difference is there is gambling at Tahoe and a few more well-known hotels.	You must go to Tahoe Forest Hospital for any medical issues. If it is very traumatic, a person will be flown to Sacramento.	Around the town there are choices to fish at Lake Donner, rent a bike and go on the trails, visit a dude ranch or just sit and relax at a coffee shop.
General comments
Truckee is a great place to visit and play. There are numerous sports to do year round i.e. skiing in nearby Tahoe, hiking, bike trails, and fishing. Also fun to 'hang out' at the local wine bar at the end of the day.
