| Burrr. The winters are relatively cold with average daytime temperature of about 30'to 40'. Some winters bring a lot of precipitation in the form of snow, sleet, or freezing rain. Although, snow doesn't remain on the ground the entire winter, it does occasionally show up. On "mild" winters there are mild temperatures of about 50' to 55' during the day. Winter nights here are cold no matter how you look at it. The Spring and Fall seasons are very short but extremely nice.The summers here are relatively hot. The average temperature during the summer is 90' to 95'. If the day has been usually hot (95'or so) residents will experience a thunderstorm with dangerous lightning, heavy rain, and occasionally hail. | | The crime in this town is quite low. There may be an occasional drug bust in the entire county in which Waxhaw is located. The drug bust usually involve individuals growing marijuana. White collar crimes have recently been on the rise in this town from the former Mayor embezzling funds to individuals running scams on the locals. There was a purse snatching at the local grocery store two weeks ago and this was a very unusual event for this town. Killings or murders are usually domestic in nature. | | Waxhaw is a small town which lies 20 miles outside of the metropolitan of Charlotte, NC. It is a rural town which has experienced a lot of development in the past seven years due to Charlotte's growth. New housing developments are continuously being built and the older more rural homeowners are selling there land to these developers. For the most part the entire town is full of newer homes no more than seven or eight years old. There are quite a few mansion communities in Waxhaw. | | The people are friendly for the most part. Try not to get offended if you run into someone and they simply say Hello. The people in this town are friendly but they are really good at "minding their own business." If you are looking for a quiet place to retire, this is your town. If you are looking for a great place to raise children, this is your town. If you are single and ready to mingle, not so much. |

| There is a railroad which runs through the downtown area. It can be heard throughout the town. | | Waxhaw to Charlotte- Waxhaw is a suburban town to Charlotte. It is not a crowded as Charlotte. Many residents choose to live in Waxhaw but work in Charlotte. For individuals looking to retire or raise a family Waxhaw is the best town for you.
Waxhaw to Monroe- Waxhaw has a lot of newer homes, very large homes in some neighborhoods. Monroe, NC has a lot of older, smaller homes. If you are looking for a newer, larger style home then Waxhaw is the town for you. | | Carolinas Medical Center is a new hospital which just recently opened its doors to care. | | The Waxhaw furniture warehouse is an attraction and most visitors enjoy looking at the furniture it has to offer even if they're not buying. |

| This town is warm and friendly. It is a laid back, family centered town. The downtown area offers a safe environment for a night out with the children. Take in a good meal, listen to a local guitarist on the corner, and chat with the locals but make way for the train which may pass through.
