Summers are hot and many bugs! The winters are extremely cold, snowy most of the season. Heavy rain picks up early Spring. The crime rate is not so good in the city. Specifically near West Baltimore. Although, the crime is high overall in the city. There are several shootings reported often in this area. As crime is tangent everywhere, it's apparent to be cautious.Off North Ave., Edmondson Ave., and Broadway Ave. these are highly crime trafficked areas. Edmondson Ave. turns into interstate 40 which is where decent neighborhoods are. Many multi-family and single-family homes. The races are mixed Blacks, Asians, Whites. Many nice houses are in this area and right before getting to Catonsville. The people in Baltimore are interesting. Many do not greet you or want to assist you. Though, there are nice genuine people around. There is a huge Asian and Latino mix in the city.

Downtown area is nice. There is a huge shopping presence. Malls/stores/boutiques. There are watersports right near the shopping areas to get a great view of the outside.Moe's Seafood-Downtown
My Thai- Off Broadway Ave.
Cheesecake Factory-Pratt Street.
Just look it up! There are too many.
Baltimore City Schools have a great public school system as the Department of Education allows extended educational services to partner with them so student's will be able to reach their full potential.Baltimore is a big city and there is a huge night life scene and there are several groups around town in which singles can join or participate according to his/her liking.

The Westside of Baltimore is close to BWI airport so you will frequently hear an airplane passing or helicopters flying by.Ellicott City, Annapolis, Columbia, Glen Burnie, and Towson are outside cities with more of the Asian/white race. These cities sometimes offer better customer service. There are several boutiques and small businesses in the cities with in town colleges such as Towson University and CCBC in Catonsville.John Hopkins is one of the best hospitals in the world. Many international students move to the U.S. to accomplish their students here. The Aquarium, Orioles/Ravens game/The Grand Prix Car Race/Monster Truck Show/The Plant Live hosts several concerts/Museums/Boat Tours of historic Baltimore/ Comedy House...so much!

The city feels dirty at times when going in between poverty areas and nicer locations. Overall, it feels like inner city living.

The weather in baltimore,Maryland fluctuates a lot! It is extremely too hot in the summer and way too cold in the winter. When the summer hits in baltimore it does not get dark outside until about 9:00pm so that means its hot until that time. it usually tends to get cooler at night. In the winter we get a lot of snow. Even this past year we had a terrible blizzard which was about 5-8 inches of snow. The good thing about baltimore is that there are not many blizzards, hurricanes or tornados. In the winter the wind tends to blow so much more and be colder which makes the temperature drop even more. In the summer the air tends to be very still which makes the humidity rise and we also have tons of rain in the summer and spring as well. The crime in baltimore is pretty bad. There are a lot of shootings and gang activity. The inner part of baltimore has to be the worst. there are not many rape cases here, even though there are some. It seems to be a lot of kidnapping of children lately which makes me want to move out of the city. The jails are literally jammed packed in the city which means they have to send the inmates to jessup maryland. The youth are troubled here in baltimore. it is not the best place to raise children at all. last year in a series of 2 weeks about 25 people were shot or killed. its too dangerous here. I dont hear about rape that much but there has to be well over 500 sex offenders in the inner city alone. its way too dangerous here. the other parts of maryland are very nice. The crime rate shoots up on holdiays for example july 4th is the absolute worst! The worst part of baltimore is probably west baltimore. Im not too familiar with the streets over there because I live in east baltimore. East baltimore is pretty bad as well. Near Greenmount ave. and North ave. Mostly blacks live in the inner city and the homes are all bordered up. There is apart of the inner city that is really high class and that is downtown baltimore. Very expensive houses and condos and a mixture of blacks and whites in downtown baltimore. light st. and charles st. has awesome houses. Also the federal hill area is beautiful. it is near camden yards but right around the corner from that is the more "ghetto" part of baltimore again. The better houses in baltimore are near york road. Very beautiful expensive homes. The counties of Maryland are absolutely gorgeous. Most of the homes in the counties are big and expensive it is totally multi-cultural in the county. Big single family homes, with a lawn and driveway. Lots of land. If you go far enough you'll see horses and other farm animals. The people here are generally nice, but in some cases people can be mean and rude. Usually you'll find the rudest people in the deep inner city of baltimore and you will find the nicer people in the counties. If you are black and young, you might find the city a good fit. Also white and educated and black and educated. If you are really old you might not find the inner city a good fit. Hippies might not do that well either because its more urban area, even though there are parts in the inner city where hippies may feel comfortable there are not many parts. In the county of maryland like, white marsh, perryhall, bel air, and towson it would be a great fit for young, old, educated or blue collared people. Race absolutely does not matter in the county. Almost everyone is friendly out there.

The downtown shopping is pretty nice. there is a nice gallery and a couple of nice places to buy clothes. They are pretty expensive. The area is awesome because its clean, there are nice people and nice houses as well.the best restaurants are Phillips, Red Lobster, Fogo De Chao. PF Changs, Apple-bees, Ihop and Hibachi grill. Most are in or around the inner city.public schools are bad in the inner city because the curriculum is way off. Children dont respect the teachers and teachers dont care about the students. There is not much organization as the children do what they want. Some schools are not so bad but most in the inner city are.Yes, baltimore has plenty of opportunity for singles. Mostly in the downtown area, but the downside of that is a lot of people in baltimore have std's. Especially teens and people in there early twenties. There are alot of bars and places to meet people and mingle. Also plenty of nice restaurants to go to as well.

There are plenty of highways in baltimore and around maryland but the noise from them is not really a factor. The most noise comes from the marc train that is runs a couple times a week transporting goods. I see planes often but I really never hear them.I will compare baltimore to towson and white marsh Maryland. Towson and White marsh are by far the better areas to live in. Number one because its safer! The people are a lot friendlier, the cost of living is a bit higher but it is completely worth it. There are a lot of places to shop in the White marsh and towson compared to baltimore. The malls are huge in those two towns. The neighborhoods are 100% better and so is the schooling system. Maryland has one of the highest rated school systems in the nation, but this applies to county schools not city schools. Transportation (Shuttles) are much better in these two towns than in baltimore. The bus in baltimore is dirty and hot. Baltimore has free shuttles that are really nice as well.Johns Hopkins is the local hospital and it is one of the best in the country. They specialize in children and childbirth. I have had both of my kids there and a couple of surgeries and they have been amazing. There are other awesome hospitals but this is one of the best.Downtown baltimore is the nicest place to visit, also federal hill and the ravens and camden yards stadium. All those places are great for entertainment and fun.

The city of baltimore to me, feels like a place of success and danger, I feel this way because in downtown baltimore there are job opportunities, successful people and prestige areas but almost everywhere else is danger and chaos. Its not dangerous all of the time but most of the time. There are not many good colleges in the inner city but great ones in the county. The city sometimes make me feel depressed because I wish I could live in a better place. I wish we could be a better city, make a safer city for our children and elders.
