The summers here are relatively hot. The average temperature during the summer is 90'to 95'. If the day has been usually hot (95'or so) we will experience a thunderstorm with dangerous lightning, heavy rain, and occasionally hail. Once the lightning storms passes, the evening cools off 5' to 10' only to return to a heat day the following day. Winters are somewhat cold with the temperature of about 30' to 40'. Some winters are filled with snow and/or ice storms. On rare, weird winters there are mild temperatures of about 50' to 55'. Spring and Falls are very short but extremely nice.As the city grows, we are starting the see an increase in crimes such as home break-ins, car break-ins, armed robbery, and recently home invasions. Majority of the time the murder related offenses are as a result of "drug deals gone bad" and usually doesn't involve a gang but two or three individuals. Occasionally we will have a rise in individuals being arrested for white collar crimes such as embezzlement, extortion, bribery, etc. (Ex. The Mayor)The most affluent areas are Ballentyne, Southpark, Piper Glen, Myers Park, Providence, and Uptown. The cost of living in all of these areas are rather high.
The homes are mansions and penthouses. The Myers Park area has a lot of Victorian style homes. The aren't any public laundromats in these areas as there are in lower income areas. There also aren't any dollar stores such as Family Dollar, Dollar General, etc.
The worst areas are Grier Heights, HiddenValley, Beatties Ford, and West BoBoulevard. The homes in these areas are old, small, and some are infested with roaches.
The city is growing therefore becoming very diverse. There is an area of town for every type of person/character. From hippies to church goers, old to young, blue collar to white collar. The dating seen can be somewhat of a challenge but if a person is open and outgoing, they will meet someone. New retirement communities are being built everyday. There is surprisingly a huge East Indian population on the South side and a growing Asian population on the Southeast side. The Caucasians, Africa Americans, and Hispanics are blended throughout the city. There's also a Caribbean/Island population (Ex. Jamaicans, Trinidadian, Bahamians, etc)

Uptown as we call it is great for food, movies, plays, dancing, and ice skating but not so much for shopping. There are some shops but can be rather pricey.131 Main, Showmars, Harper's, Cheddars, and Golden Crust. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being highest) I would rate the schools an 8.Singles will prosper here if they are focused on education and career. If you are looking to get married and start a family it is possible but there is a lot of competition.
NoiseCompared to other placesBest hospitalTourist attractions
The West side is plagued with airplane noise due to Charlotte Douglas International Airport. There are noise barriers along most of the necessary areas of the highways.Charlotte compared to Gastonia- Charlotte offers more career and business opportunities. The people which choose to live in Gastonia, live there because they either have no choice or simply grew up there and do not want to leave. Majority of the workforce in Gastonia spend the leisure time in Charlotte. Charlotte is better to live in because there is more to do and more jobs.
Charlotte compared to Waxhaw- If you are looking for a break from all the traffic and increased crime then Waxhaw is the better place to live. It is very close the Charlotte and many work in Charlotte but choose to live in Waxhaw and have their children go to school in Waxhaw.

Carolinas Medical Center and Presbyterian Hospital. The hospitals are very good. I would stray away from CMC Main for emergency purposes as it is extremely busy. However it is the go to for major surgery.Freedom Park, Southpark Mall, and Epicenter.
General comments
The town feels like a growing city (child) busting at the seams. As a new school is built, additional mobile units are delivered
alongside the new computers because the projected attendance for the upcoming year is more than the school can accommodate. The new Interstate which still isn't complete is already 4years old for the expected amount of cars it will receive. The light rail runs about 10 miles only from Uptown to I 485 along South Blvd. Independence Blvd is finally being constructed into a Freeway from Uptown to Village Lakes Dr. It is alive and moving. The excitement of a metropolis is in the air as well as the peacefulness of a rural town. Busy nights, productive days, laid back lunches, and tranquil Sundays.
