WeatherSafetyNeighborhoodsPeople
Spring is one of the best times to visit Dallas. During the summer you can see the temperatures get extremely high end the humidity be obnoxiously high during June through August. You can expect temperatures to go through the upper to high 80's and 90's and expect a lot of precipitation to occur in this area as well. Autumn is also a better times to visit Dallas Texas. All in all you get the right amount of extremes in both aspects of weather when you come to Dallas. The downfalls of living in the end of this area is the height of tornadoes, tornadoes are a big problem in the Midwest and also can be seen in areas such as Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.Dallas has a large crime rate. However do not let this deter you from living here because with every large city, there is a distribution of crime. You expect to see in Dallas a large influx of theft, robbery, and burglary. It has become a common action to lock all your valuables when leaving your area so you can prevent yourself from becoming a victim. You can also protect yourself by living in a better are of the city. Don't expect to be pampered here because it does get messy with people who are homeless and not as fortunate. I personally have seen a lot of violence occur in Dallas during the winter due to homeless not being housed.West Dallas is known to be one of the better areas of Dallas. This area is housed with a lot of the professionals that own businesses and are venture capitalists. There homes here are vast and luxurious and have a high price tags. The homes are set up in a modern setting and are built after 05' or personally built by independent contractors. This area is also predominately white. South Dallas is programmed in everyone's mind not to live near. A lot of different subgroups live here of all different races. They are mostly poor or blue collar Americans living in a small home or no home at all. The houses here in general are deteriorating and are not in shape. High Crime in South Dallas has made it an unpleasing place to live.Dallas is your modern town in a culturally southern state. Everyone comes to Dallas to make a name for themselves. People also dub Dallas as the nations true capital as the people here are known to house real "American" values. Don't get it wrong though, a lot of different ethnicity live here and you should be tolerant of that. Great for young people and those who are liberals. If you are a small town individual, I don't believe Dallas would work out for you.
Downtown AreaRestaurantsSchoolsSingle life
Downtown is amazing. You cant beat it. People love shopping here because of the hottest designer clothes are always present. The area also has live music and street performers daily.Cheddar Cafe is a prime destination that I always go with my dad to. It's got great food and amazing coffee. Iron Cactus is also a favorite, however it is pricey. The public schools here are excellent. A lot of state money goes to education.High opportunity for singles. A LOT of bars and places to meet other people with different interests.
NoiseCompared to other placesBest hospitalTourist attractions
Lots of noise, and you have the airport as well with a lot of activity.Highland Village and Parker are two neighboring towns that are close to Dallas. Highland Village is a popular attraction due to its upscale appeal and the schooling that is accompanied by it. A lot of the residents that come by and live in Highland are not actually from Texas at all, their usually people who have relocated to find a sanctuary. The Village also has a lake that is easily accessible. Parker is a smaller town suburb of about 2,000 or 3,000 people. You see a lot of farmland here, but the people are friendly. Don't take this are for granted because it is fairly close to a lot of surrounding cities, giving you the option to visit any time. Highland Village would be better to live in solely because of the saftey and what you're getting out of the area.Baylor University Medical Center is a great hospital.Cowboys Stadium is a prime destination to catch a Football game. The Dallas Zoo is also a favorite and can be seen by many as one of the better zoo's in the region. White rock lake is also a cool place to visit if you're into water sports.
General comments
Dallas has a big light under it's housing I feel like. Every time I walk around I will always see someone or something that has importance. Whether it be a celebrity or a business mogul. The impression I get is "Prime Time". If you want to get your foot in the door I feel as if Dallas would be the place to get it done, as the resources here are second to none.
