WeatherSafetyNeighborhoodsPeople
The weather in Moreno Valley is hot in the summer - 90's to low 100's, cool in spring and fall and chilly for So. Cal in the winter - 60's to 70's. Rain fall depends on what is happening in the rest of So. Cal. The elevation is too low for snow fall and winds can blow pretty hard in the summer, usually up to 50 - 60 miles per hour.Unfortunately crime is prevalent in Moreno Valley. Due in most to the lower income residents. Burglary, home robberies and an occasional shooting are typical for this area. There are some nice homes located in the out skirts of Moreno Valley. Valued in the upper $500's, blue color workers, families. There is also low-income housing that is predominately Hispanic and African American.Overall the people are friendly yet some what distrustful. The mix of Hispanic and African American- 75% and Caucasian 20% makes for some tension.

The Moreno Valley Mall has shopping, food park, movies, games and occasional fun events during the holidays. It has recently been sold and will be doe to have some renovations made. There are two really good restaurants in town - Benihana's and Matsuri Japanese Restaurant. They have great food and service. There are many public schools that all have different ratings. Some are better in the newer areas and a few others are for kids that have been in trouble and can't function in a typical school. Not much for singles. This is more of a family town.
NoiseCompared to other placesBest hospitalTourist attractions
There is quite a bit of air noise due to the March Air Force Reserve Base that is centrally located in Moreno Valley. And two freeways make the town more accessible to traffic.Moreno Valley is located next to Perris and Hemet. Both of these towns have suffered the same bad image as Moreno Valley but are working on changing that. Crime is down and there are more recreational things to do to keep the residents busy. The best hospital is the Kaiser Hospital. It is fairly new and has an attached medical center to cover all one's medical needs.Moreno Valley is close to the mountains for skiing, Lake Perris is minutes away for boating and jet skis. There is also the Perris Speedway for car and motorcycle races.
General comments
This town has had a bad-rap in the past due to the lower income groups and higher crime rate. But recently the city is working on changing it's image with new homes, better police presents, new shops and renovating older homes to promote pride in home ownership.
