Winters are somewhat cold with the temperature of about 30' to 40' during the day. Some winters are filled with snow and/or ice storms. On rare, weird winters there are mild temperatures of about 50' to 55' during the day. Summers are hot and humid. The Sumner thunderstorms here produce heavy rains, lightening, and loud thunder. The Springs and Falls here are very nice but tend to come and go quickly.This is a small city and it is starting to see its share of crime. It has some law offenders that commit auto thefts, burglaries, assaults, and drug related crimes. Even though Rock Hill residents here and/or experience some level of crime, the residents in Rock Hill, SC still feel safe majority of the time.Rock Hill is a nice little city. It has a lot of really nice neighborhoods. The south western area does have some low income housing like around S. Garrison Rd. These homes are for under privilege families and the government offers subsidies for these families. This nicest area of Rock Hill is in the Northern area near Fort Mill. The homes in this area are larger and several homes have private swimming pools. The homes are modern with brick and stucco. The Claxton Dr area has really nice homes. The landscaping in this area is beautiful.The people of Rock Hill are nice and friendly. There are more blue collar workers here than white collar workers. Rock Hill has three major higher education institutions so you will see a nice amount of college students here. You will also see a lot of nice looking families out enjoying this little city. You also will not have to look too far to spot the nice retired individuals taking a stroll through Rock Hill's beautiful parks.

The downtown area is nice and clean. It has been restored and the historic look has been preserved.The best restaurants here are McHale's Irish Pub, Michael's Rock Hill Grill, and Olive Garden. Rock Hill has a wide variety of restaurants from commercial to independently owned.The schools in Rock Hill are good schools. The class sizes are relatively small and the teachers offer a lot of support to the students.This is a nice city for singles. There is a lot to do in Rock Hill and not to mention it is less than a 20 minute highway drive to a major metropolitan area.

There is a active railroad which runs through Rock Hill's downtown area. It runs right in front of The Herald Newspaper Office and it can be loud.Rock Hill SC is larger than Fort Mill SC and it has more restaurants, museums, and shopping malls. It also has a nice downtown area.
Rock Hill SC is larger than Lancaster SC and it has more colleges for you to chose from. If you are looking to further your education you will want to chose to be in Rock Hill over Lancaster, SC.
The best hospital here is Piedmont Medical and it is used by most of Rock Hill's restaurants. There is also a great rehabilitation hospital here. Healthsouth Piedmont Rehabilitation Hospital is heavily used for long-term care.The nicest places to visit are The Botanical Garden, The Children's Museum, and Carowinds which is less than 10 minutes up I77.
General comments   
This is a small little city. It is diverse and offers a lot of nice restaurants for those looking for a great meal. It serves several strangers on a daily basis due to the interstate that runs through it. The residents of Rock Hill are nice and friendly and they are happy to share their little city with the travelers. It is a little city that comes alive everyday and even on the weekends.
